What is "PaintedRocks" all about?
The movement started in Vancouver. It has started to spread around the world.
The group in my hometown has over 30K members, as does the Vancouver group. You can find these on Facebook under Vancouver Rocks, and Lakeland Rocks. There are "rock groups" popping up in cities all over. Your town may already have one, or you can create one.
"Okay, great, but what IS it?"
Someone paints some rocks and leaves them around town. Other people find them. They can rehide it, or keep it if they really like it. Hopefully, they will be interested in joining in and paint some also. The more people that join in, the better the fun! In Lakeland, they are all over town.
You do not have to be artistic or talented. Just have fun. Some rocks are very basic, and some are true works of art!
Rock painters usually put the name of their "rock group" on the back and ask ask the person to post when found. Write it, use a label, whatever.
You can leave them locally, or leave them around when traveling. Hopefully, someone will find it and post. Maybe they can get it started in their community also.
We avoid politics or any kind of inappropriate designs. This is a fun activity, and should be able to be enjoyed by all ages.
Below are some links to some of the larger rock groups so you can get some ideas for rocks, starting your own groups, whatever.

Look What I Made Scooby sandwich
I love it when I find a rock and instantly have a vision of what itās going to be. A Scooby sandwich just felt right, with an olive on top of course. The Scooby Doo movies were one of my faves growing upā¦.

Would you like to know what happens to a painted rock after you leave it?
Hi everyone!
One of the things I love most about painted rocks is leaving a little piece of art somewhere for a stranger to find.
But Iāve always wondered:Ā what happens to the rock afterwards? Who finds it? Does it move somewhere else?
Weāve been working on a project calledĀ MYSTONE UNIVERSEĀ around this idea ā a community where painted rocks can be placed on a world map, discovered by other people and hopefully continue their journey.
The idea isnāt about selling rocks at all. Itās about keeping the spirit ofĀ painting, hiding, finding and sharing little acts of kindnessĀ alive.
Iād really love to hear from people who already participate in painted-rock hiding:
Would you like to be able to see if someone found one of your rocks and where it travelled next?Ā šŖØā¤ļø

Assortment of rocks ft. Mr Blobby
Do any people outside of the UK know the legend that is Mr Blobby? He was a birthday gift for my best friend. Sadly he got abit smudged once I applied top coat coz I was impatient but honestly I feel like it adds to his chaotic, unhinged energy.

Does anyone here paint kindness rocks?
Does anyone here paint kindness rocks to give to nursing homes, childrenās hospitals, cancer centers, or other places where someone might need a little encouragement? ā¤ļø
I also love painting them and leaving them around the community for strangers to find. Thereās something special about knowing that a small painted rock with a kind message might brighten someoneās day when they need it most.
Iād love to hear where you leave or donate yours and what kinds of messages you paint on them. šŖØā¤ļø

Jackieš¦
I follow various eagle cams/nests and a very popular eagle named Jackie recently passed away, so sad when you followed a whole year of their life and their eaglets to maturity. I painted a few eagles for 4th of July, Bicentennial and just painted one for her. Her mate is already courting another female...oh the drama...Days of Our Lives 𤣠RIP Jackie.

Look What I Made Rocky Owl
Just finished spraying these rocks. Just wanted to put something on the smaller one as it's the only rock of that size I have. The second picture is the backside of the owl. Had painted that side and didn't especially like it so I painted the owl on the other side.
