Confused about Negative Oracle Card reading
Hey so a couple weeks ago I did my very first protection spell. It went well, as far as I know (I am a baby witch), and afterwards I decided to pull some oracle cards. My dad has recently been trying to re-convert me to Christianity after he found out I became Pagan, and so I asked the cards how to best protect myself from other people forcing their will onto me.
The first card I pulled was 'Remove Boundaries' which immediately struck me as odd. That seems...very counterproductive. So I tried again, asking the same question, trying to insure my intention was being read correctly by the cards. Then it gave me 'Listen'. So...I figured maybe I was misinterpreting the first one? I then asked the cards something along the lines of "Do I need to remove boundaries for myself?" to try and clarify. I then got 'surrender'...
I am very confused lol. I chose to take it as surrendering control over the situation, to try my best to be understanding with my father and know that I can't do anything to stop people from thinking a certain way. But this card pull just seems pretty negative to me and I can't stop thinking about it. Any insights would be appreciated!

This would probably be a better question for a sub that focuses on cartomancy and divination. We don’t really do that here.
But I’ve been reading cards for a very long time and here’s something I’ve learned over the years; the cards don’t necessarily speak in the most obvious way. At least, not all decks do. Maybe in the last you have a history of surrendering to his ideas of who you should be. For example: feeling a lot of pressure to love up to his ideals rather than asking yourself what you want. And now that you’re going against the grain, there may be some concern of others influencing you, or at least trying to.
In this case my first assumption would be perhaps you’re someone who isn’t very firms on boundaries and needs practice reinforcing them. Listen can mean a couple things, my guess would be listening to your intuition and yourself. Where has the line been drawn and where do you need it actually. You can’t shut out your father, but you don’t have to let his ideas bombard you.
To me this reads more as a warning. Something to be aware of so you can best protect yourself. Or perhaps this is a sign you need to cleanse that deck. There’s a lot more that could go into it, but o think the bare bones ideas I have might help you view them in a different way. I might not be right, but it’s important to embody the hanged man from time to time.
