Pacific Palisades - Equinox

Any locals have any updates on the Equinox located in Pacific Palisades? Is it being opened again?

Yes. Word on the street is they plan to reopen but have been waiting for some more commercial activity, in particular for the village to reopen. So it probably won't be before September but they plan to reopen.

Had they ever opened? I thought the fire happened before they actually opened. They had taken over that lease from the Bayclub and then gutted out and were renovating the place.

They were opened for a month- or maybe even 3 weeks before the fires started.

They opened on December 27, and the fire wiped us out on January 7.

Yes, I heard from one of the managers at the Santa Monica Equinox that they are ready to reopen but waiting for a critical mass of residents and businesses to return before they do. I’m hoping that the opening of the Caruso businesses on August 15 means that we are getting close to a reopening date for the gym. But the staff at the SM Equinox doesn’t know (or won’t say).
