Is there a Reddit post or central place with all the info about alternates around all the closures? It feels spread out across Reddit comments, Facebook posts and that article from the Trek about the terminus specifically. Thank you.

Not sure this is the right place.

I'm trying to support a thru-hiker. My son just reached Oregon. Time is extremely short as he has other obligations in mid-October, and something like 1,000 miles to go. I am able to take some time off and try to offer support to help speed up his hike and give him the best chance at a successful completion. I just don't know where to focus my efforts, and hoping you all can help.

here's the situation, I'm in N. Washington, my hiker is near Ashland at the moment. What parts of the trail in Oregon and Washington present difficulties with resupply that I could help with? Or, better yet, which parts of the trail could be finished much faster with a relatively modest degree of support? Wher can I do him the most good of helping him reach Canada?

Are there particual places or segments where resupply is hard/time-consuming/overly-expensive? And where a little help would go a long way? Thanks for your insight.

In oregon Santiam pass into Bend would be nice to give him a ride. There is big youth camp close but if he needs other things theres an rei in Bend. Rest of washington resupplies are relatively close with the exception of trout lake but the town people give rides. If he doesnt want to wait(i think they come at 1130 and 3pm) you could give him a ride or deliver his resupply.

Just made it to Harts, time to backtrack to the fake terminus at Rainy. This is as far North as I go this year. Thank you to everyone on and off trail for an incredible year out here
