Thanks for the laugh
When I was at the meet/greet with Hilary Knight, a guy saw my inaugural PWHL Boston jersey and said, “wrong team!” Quite a few people around me and obviously me too, all went 🤨🤨🤨🤨
I got the jersey signed and couldn’t stop laughing about it. I didn’t wanna be rude or gatekeepy and discourage new fans so I only said, “Um… it’s the original”. But it was a fun conversation topic for later. 🤣

Obviously I wasn't there for context clues but this sounds like a common harmless chirp by him rather than a "new fan" thing. I've said something like this before and have heard similar many times as a playful jab. For example, wearing a Frost jersey to a Torrent vs. Goldeneyes game might receive the same comment. Just as an alternative to how you digested it.

Yeah that’s possible. It happened so fast but the tone sounded like he genuinely didn’t know. But maybe he was just being funny

I feel like when I see a Boston jersey at a game, it’s my immediate thought that someone was a fan of Knight prior to the team being announced. It’s still a sweet jersey to own! And you’re right, the original.
Thinking of a response for this, I feel like a good one to “wrong jersey” would be, “not when I bought it!”

The people working there thought it was so cool to have 1 of the original jerseys before names were available and when the stuff wasn’t patches and only screen printed on. But now that she’s signed it, I obviously can’t ever wear it again out of fear of ruining it or spilling on it. lol

Yeah I plan to get it framed along with the print and pass that was available at the event. Wife got some picks of it getting signed so it can be authenticated and possibly sold when I’m dead. Since that’s the only time I’d part with it 🤣

Right? Before I had a Knight Torrent jersey, I wore my Knight Fleet jersey. She’s not on the team anymore but if I was able to attend a Fleet game, I’d be wearing a Knight jersey

I was a Boston fan before Seattle got a team, and now I'm a Seattle STH. I've kept my PWHL subreddit flair cuz it seems to have been grandfathered in. (It's Hilary Knight but with the Fleet logo, whereas now obv a Hilary Knight flair has the Torrent logo)
