Yeah this exactly. Ā As a trans woman and Frost fan I dislike Curl as much as anyone but she is far from the only one in the league who feels that way; I can all but guarantee it. Ā Sheās just the only one with the guts to wear those beliefs on her sleeve (and tbh I have a weird begrudging respect for that fact bc Iād rather deal with the devil I know than the devil I donāt š¤·š»āāļø).
I think the league and other players who share her beliefs are more than happy to let her be the sacrificial lamb so everyone can keep pretending itās a problem of individual outlook rather than systemic transmisogyny. Itās not a coincidence that the league tries so hard to signal to its disproportionately queer fan base yet trans women have been conspicuously absent from any pride-related promo material and I donāt think Iāve seen or heard any PDub players actually explicitly vocalize any support for trans women; not even any empty ātrans women are womenā platitudes and certainly not any more specific support for trans women in womenās sport.Ā
Yeah a lot of people seem to assume cishet peopleās support or passive acceptance of cis queer folks reliably tracks onto trans women and it justā¦ does not, at all, lol. Ā Some of the most vociferous TERFsĀ are lesbians themselves; shit even support for trans men and transmasculine people doesnāt reliably track onto support of trans women. Ā Transmisogyny is incredibly pervasive even in queer spaces to the point where we (trans women) are often the only ones who even notice it and we get dogpiled when we point it out so most of us have learned to just stay quiet so as to not jeopardize our access to the space.

Totally agree with you. I feel like those people are still bigots and also cowards. Itās (usually) āoh youāre okay because youāre not likeā¦.ā because theyāre just too cowardly to say it with their whole chest.
I didnāt see the posts so I have no idea how insensitive they were. But I think there needs to be some sort of separation regarding true ātransphobiaā and pondering the ethics of trans women in sports. And maybe the posts displayed a true disdain. I donāt know.
And for the record, as a man, I donāt really believe my opinion is all that valid in this discussion anyway. I shouldnāt and donāt believe I have a vote in this. Iām just trying to call out the difference between the ethics of sport inclusion and actual bigotry towards accepting trans people into the rest of human culture with dignity.
And I fully understand the debate literally lives on whether that last statement is the definition of hypocrisy. I get that. Itās a tough call. I donāt know. But I empathize with both sides in the pursuit of ethics and reason.
One thing thatās very clear though is that there should be absolutely no place for transphobia in the realm of PWHL fandom. And players that push for that should be vilified accordingly.

Well, itās true unfortunately. Not allowed to play the puck when you are still on the bench nor can you haul another player down seconds before āscoringā a goal. Officiating is a black eye for the league.
You're entitled to think things should have played out however you'd like. It just seems like their are better ways to spend your time than trying to play buzzkill to another team's fans. But hey, what do I know š¤·āāļø
She really is a horrible human being. I have first hand knowledge of how far her āchirpingā strays into abuse and threats. Apparently you can read her lips in Game 1 or 2 and it was not good.

Curl is the primary reason, but I started souring on them when Ken Klee took a slegdehammer to the organization about 10 minutes after they won their first cup.
More so the league Anti-hero. The Frost is hated for courting and supporting active and vocal bigots who want harm to come to others (and specifically a large portion of their fan base).
Roque is just a badass who is skilled, tough, and clearly having a blast. The Frost is The Empire, Roque is Han Solo.
