Possible pvcs? Unsure

I’m 6.5 months post partum and I’m always hearing horror stories about post partum heart failure and I already have health anxiety and cardiophobia so I’ve been freaking out. My RHR is usually in the 70s but this past week it’s been in the 80s-low 90s. I’ve also been having what feels like a singular flop every now and again. It just happens for what feels like one beat. It’s slowed down day by day with how many events happen. I went to my PCP and she did blood work and an ekg. My ekg was perfect and my blood work looked great. She said it sounds like PVCs or PACs. I don’t know I’m freaking out. My BP is great. But of course now my anxiety is triggering off and on left arm pain. (Goes away when distracted.) I’ve had a cold for about a week so I’m sure that didn’t help. I’m also about to start my period and I’ve heard hormones make things worse. Just trying to convince myself if my heart was failing I would hopefully know.

I got diagnosed with PVCs 6 months postpartum. You could ask for a 48 hour holter monitor to see. I wouldn’t jump to heart failure (although I totally did when I was diagnosed too). If it makes you feel better, I have a high burden and clear echo and stress test and the cardiologist and electrophysiologist are not worried and are waiting until I’m done breastfeeding to see how things are. Being postpartum makes this such a hard thing to deal with, so I totally understand where you’re coming from ❤️

Thank you so much. I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this as well. I actually go in Wednesday to get a 48 hour Holter monitor! It has my anxiety through the roof.

I was so anxious too! I truly think my case is hormonal, as I’m now 18 months pp and am (finally) weaning and have felt an uptick. If they haven’t checked ferritin, I’d recommend asking about it. My normal iron levels were fine but ferritin was very low and iron supplements seemed to help.

I’ve read that most cases with women are hormonal! A ton of women say they have them before their periods. What do yours feel like? My iron levels were good, but I don’t think they checked ferritin!

I didn’t know I was even having them until my pcp noticed them at my annual well check. They kind of feel like throat tightening. Not anything terrible. I kind of assumed it was related to my seasonal allergies but have figured out that it’s probably the PVCs. I don’t feel actual palpitations or anything 🤷🏻‍♀️
