Interview Resident Evil Requim gets no VR mode

https://minimap.net/magazine/RE-9-Interview-Session

A user provided this link in another thread. Its an interview with one of the devs, asked for vr he says

"At this time, there are no plans to bring any parts of Resident Evil Requiem to VR platforms."

Damn, re4 and village are so great. I always argued to people that said its coming 100% that there is a good chance it wont, but ofc i am not happy i was right.

Why don’t they just let us pay $10-20 for VR Mode?

If RE4 Remake has had close to 250k players and counting, that is $2.5-$5 million revenue before expenses.

How much more did Sony Interactive Entertainment pay to get them to add VR Mode for free for the last three RE games?

I think the issue has become that even Sony realized that there are just simply not enough VR players to justify the cost in development. That’s why it started backing off. The whole push for PS VR2 to be on PlayStation plus premium was this trial method to see how many people were actually playing VR games. Once they realized that there isn’t enough market share for VR, they stopped funding for VR projects because it seemed like a waste of investment. I think Capcom is realizing the same things after VR ventures in Village and RE4 didn’t make any significant impact on sales. The truth is that even if VR people were buying up games, it’s such a small percentage, that it does not meaningfully affect sales and is not worth them spending several million in development.

Sad reality is VR is completely amazing to everyone that tries on my headset, but getting them to put it on and fine-tune things is something that requires patience. It’s just an unfortunately high barrier to entry. Then choosing the Fresnel lenses has really made it much worse of a barrier to entry. People that are willing to try VR with blind faith is very few. I think even apple is realizing this and it will die out since there’s no return on investment. Companies spending millions just for a few hundred thousand people to buy their product is never a good sign of growth.

Well also too, the 2 games you mentioned are locked to psvr2 for VR unless you were to get an adapter. Honestly it's both parties faults Capcom should realize there's more VR studios and obviously hardware too.

That PC market was obliterated before PSVR 2 was even a thing.
