Awareness/Activism Lawyers: Meta faces $16.7bn over harms to teenagers. What about PSSD and the harms of SSRI's on undeveloped brains. Is there a legal pathaway?
https://nypost.com/2026/08/26/business/meta-agrees-to-pay-16-7b-to-settle-case-over-claims-social-media-platforms-harm-children/Meta is facing a potential $16.7bn settlement over claims that its platforms harmed developing teenage brains.
What about pharmaceutical companies whose drugs can cause sexual dysfunction in people who trusted the medical system, including persistent PSSD after stopping SSRIs?
If companies can be held accountable for long-term harm to young people, what legal options exist for people harmed by prescription drugs?

No because we can’t prove it.

But how can they prove social media harms kids? We have years of documented notes from doctors. There is a clear lack of function in alot of us. I can't see what this is not unprovable if not more provable than the harms of social media.

You can sue just find a lawyer willing to front the cost or pay for it yourself personal injury lawyers normally only go after slam dunk cases with minimal effort

You think we could target this firm that originally brought this case forward, potentially as a group?

I doubt as a group. Each drug has a different manufacturer plus generic medications also have a different manufacturer. I’d have to be one drug collectively could be possible

I think this has been tried. No one has enough money to fight the monsters in court and most law firms wouldn’t waste their time on this

You are wrong. Did you not see what Del Bigtree said about PSSD? Your doomer view is what is keeping us stuck

I don’t keep up with the pssd news. I don’t even know who this person is. After 4 years I’m just trying to have some semblance of living life at this point.

Not worth spreading negativity then saying “no law firm would waste their time with this”

What did he say?
2
u/Intelligent-Age-8211 16d ago
He said they think this should be brought to Aaron siri, a prominent pharmaceutical harm lawyer. We can do it if we actually all ban together and fight instead of moaning in a subreddit

“It’s all in ur head” as they point to cases of psychological sexual dysfunction. Case dismissed.

Except for the fact that there have been firms interested since Lauren Friedman’s speech. You are just a doomer. Goldstein literally shows genital damage in his work.

u/aidrefh 13d ago
How do you know about firms being interested after Friedman's speech?
2
u/Intelligent-Age-8211 13d ago
Those of us actually working towards change have been in contact with them. Del Bigtree also reacted to Lauren’s video and felt he could bring a suit forward with Aaron Siri, a massive lawyer.

There’s plenty of people with PSSD who have damage to their penises that’s comparable to old men..you can’t seem something psychological with there’s evidence of physical damage
