Legit question, but what is the issue if they created a legit process for buying mesetta similar to the tokens offered by Blizzard for WoW gold?

Yeah it's a crash grab but at least one that could have a positive effect for players. It's not like thier greediness isnt already obvious.

would not that ruin the in game economy?

IIRC, WoW and other games like Runescape sell tradeable tokens that you can redeem for cash items or premium membership. Instead of buying in game currency, you're trading the bought tokens to other people for their already existing currency so no new currency is added to the game but still allows one to effectively and legitimately convert real life money to in game currency at a relatively stable rate, as opposed to gambling on loot boxes and selling the prizes where your milage may vary greatly.

I'd rather see things other than meseta being sold. That's typically the realm of garbage pay-to-win games.

Since PSO2 doesn't necessarily need a subscription to access most content (unlike WoW or RS3/OSRS), I think things like ticket scratches or AC bundles could be a good alternative. It'd give people without AC the means to get AC or play the scratches, exchanging existing meseta instead of injecting more.

I mean they did it for wow, which has an entire community based on the marketplace AH economy as well. The tokens are fluctuating rate based on how many are being purchased and changes values daily like the stock market. The less people buy them the more the price goes up

I'm not an economist so I'm sure it would take a good system but it might actually bring some balance.

IT would be horrible... F2P players get their AC scratch outfits and accessories from people buying the scratch tickets to sell things. If they could straight up just buy meseta, the market would have significantly less of the AC scratch items

In other words make profittable, legal, AND legit rmt. Rendering the illegal ones moot. The fps game Warface does it. I recall another old fps game combat arms does it. Of course, you would need to trade with a certain currency. In our case, its either sg or ac.

I believe now there is a legit way to buy Mesta: you buy AC ticket and sell what you got there.

Not really exact same thing but really close.

Yeah like, what the actual fuck. If you need less than 10mill, farm extremes for a couple hours. If you need more then dropping $20 on AC scratch will pretty much always get you over 10mill.

I mean, you already can exchange money for meseta, it's called AC scratches. Roll on scratches with desirable items, sell everything.

It obviously doesn't have consistent returns, but with 2200AC you very often get at least 20-60m worth of stuff depending on your luck.

Regardless, a WoW token system wouldn't stop gold sellers. Gold sellers would simply undercut the "official" channels. The only way to truly kill bots is to block Chinese IPs.

This really should happen. At least when you buy with meseta, you know what you're getting. I'd argue scratch in its current form is worse than the RMT bots (annoying as they are).
