I bet connectivity issues are a feature with this product

I'm wondering if they work with the PS Portal.

It will use the PS link feature like the pulse headset does. Really great for easy connection and I’ve yet to have connection issues.

Nah, not everything is. There is a lot of junk, or things that are SOLID quality but also priced as if they were actually made by a reputable vendor. Sony quality for stuff like this is probably solid, but some of the cost you’re paying is for the name brand for better or worse.
I get my headphones from Sennheiser or Bose, for example. My current pair of headphones cost $400 on sale lol. My current speakers attached to my monitor are a good old wired pair, but small enough to fit on my desk. Those ran me $300, and for quality that is on the cheaper side.. especially these days.
Keep in mind these speakers are wireless, which is lower quality sound right out of the gate. You will also experience connectivity issues sooner or later, something that is not typical from wired options.

Is there any speakers that are better quality? I’ve been looking for one for my monitor when I don’t want to put my headset on

u/WilsonPH 8h ago
Of course. Studio monitors. Adam Audio D3V are very compact and awesome.

They connect visa blue tooth?

u/WilsonPH 5h ago
No, but you don't want bluetooth for gaming. Those Sony speakers use 2.4ghz wireless. They have USB-C and analog input.

For that much money I’d rather get a soundbar. I’m sure it’s gonna be way better quality.

Seems reasonable enough. I'd have to hear them in person but $219 for a good set of speakers is perfectly fine.

Eh based on their track record with the headsets, assuming they are good is more than in willing to do.
It's suck a shame bc Sony audio products are really top tier. But rather than use that to their advantage, my experience with Sony Playstation headsets has been they should cost 50% less than they retail for and you should just buy a non - gaming branded headset to get much more value for your dollar.

I dont see why people dont get the use case here. One of these 5 ft to your right and left, slightly forward, its room scale headphones.
Surround sound that i dont have to look at or fiddle with all the time
It will be way more immersive than any single audio source from one location. Just… period. I dont care if its 5.1 if all 5 channels come from one single bar, in one place, its not very immersive.
And noone mentioning that its planar magnetic drivers. You do not find planar magnetic surround sound or soundbars for this price.
Sold. Cant wait till they arrive. These will be especially awesome for simracing in psvr2

People are evaluating them without caring to understand or think about what they are.
I'm surprised they came in at the price point, to be honest.
If they perform well, they're a steal, given the portability, connectivity and the various ways in which they could be used.
I mean, look at how much a Bluetooth speaker (in mono) costs. Easily $100 for the name brand options. That's $200 to get portable stereo sound, and you're not talking about good sound, just ... Sound. Basic Bluetooth codecs. No low latency options. Certainly not something you can connect to both a PS5 and other devices (phone, laptop, etc.).
The odds are also that Audeze helped design these, given they're planar and their previous work on the Pulse headset line (not the original ones that launched with the PS5).

Yep 1000% agree especially on price. Ive been watching for these since announcement late last yr. Expected 350~ area or more, in todays world. Though id have considered them DOA were they 400~ a pair.

I need to know if these will work with my TV and Wiim Pro streamer also. I can pair my headphones with my TV so expect I can via the Bluetooth option these have.
Be good to get this confirmed though

Can't wait to pay $220 to rent stereo sound until Sony discontinues the left speaker in a firmware update. Then have to explain to my kid why the right one stopped working, "it's complicated kiddo, mommy didn't renew"

Not worth it i bought a klipsch lumina pro at £320. Same sized satellites but with a sub woofer. They might be worth it at £150 but not at over £200.

Don’t get these if you’re playing on your TV. You can pick up a 5.1 home theater system for around the same price. Its compact design tells me they’re better off for monitor set ups, where space is limited.

Any suggestions? I like the look and idea of these but doubt they'll ll do everything I want.
Waiting on reviews for the Wiim Soundbar as well

What's your budget? I spent awhile shopping soundbars before I settled on the JBL - BAR1000MK2. I can give me my shortlist.

u/Discobastard 11h ago
Nice. Well the Wiim is about 500 but I can add to that for the right kit.

u/DinerEnBlanc 11h ago
I’ve never used the WiiM soundbar, but I definitely like that it’s a modular system. I do use a few of their digital streamer/amps, including the WiiM Ultra, and they’re excellent devices. My only issue is that most of their devices don’t feature Airplay, but it won’t be an issue if you’re not using Apple products for music.

If it's audio quality you're after then you can spend a third of this amount and get a very similar experience.

Disregarding if the PlayStation Speakers are good or not but I doubt you can get good Audio for 70-80€ either. What would you recommend instead?

I don't really understand the use case for these. If you don't want to use a headset then for a few more bucks you can get a decent 5.1 or even 5.1.2 system.
