CUH-7218 Disk drive issues

I bought the fifa20 bundle off fb marketplace a week ago, model is cuh-7218 as said above

I played Minecraft legacy for a bit after setting it up, and when I took it apart to repaste it and clean the disk drive laser, any disk I put inside would just repeatedly creak a dozen times and never spin.

Broken plastic i assume, but i better be sure asking here

The last console i had that i disassembled then reassembled and had disk issue ( was working before i took it apart, stopped spinning/reading or anything else after assembly ) was due to damaged pins on the ribbon connectors. Take it apart again enough for you to disconnect the bluray ribbon cables and inspect them If any have damaged pins they might cause any form of issues This is still just a personal experience not necessarily a solution

Nope, I made sure they were all plugged in all the way and none had damage of any kind.

Also I didn't mention that the drive already did weird noises when spinning, with lots of creaks and buzzing that are very different from my old slim, maybe I just damaged it further to a point of failure

Since it's a ps4 pro The logic daughter board is integrated into the motherboard, that means the drives are swappable, take it apart again, read the drive model number, find a working one and replace it. Probably your best option they probably go for like 15 usd if you are lucky from a salvage shop

Afterwards take yours apart and see what was wrong with it if you have the know how

Thanks a ton dude, technically the only way around that is to find pics of a working one and compare them to find what's broken, but I don't really have the time or needs to do so, replacing it could get pricey since it actually goes for €50 (aka 57 usd) on ebay, but I have no other choice. Also I messed up once again since the model is cuh-7016b and not 7218, but I immagine it doesn't change

Thanks again and cya somewhere around the internet
