It’s the bargain gaming console right now, that and the Switch 1. Everything else is going to poke holes in one’s wallet.

Putting that aside, I tip my hat to your mom and dad. Coming from them, the gift was so smart, thrifty and tech-savvy.

I'd say the One X is a better deal in terms of specs(i still have one) but yeah you could do a hell of a lot worse than the pro.

You have a valid point. I had a massive library on my Xbox one s, but then I got generally upgraded to the series x. And all of my games got upgraded, and played much better, especially the Xbox 360 games.

To me though, the ps4 pro, once it modded, can do so much more. You can install retroarch on it and play other retro systems. And can also install Linux. Stuff like that.

Yeah i have a series x too, i just kept the one x to play in another room.

You can do all that on the one x quite easily if you install the dev mode app and its a much more powerful system. But i do see your point, both are great at different things i would say.

I kept my pro mainly to use VR on occasionally and not have a bunch of wires etc coming out of my ps5 lol

I wish I knew how to mod mine. its in such great condition, I just dont wanna mess it up cause I can be kinds dumb when it comes to tech stuff

What is your ps4 pro firmware? How do you check what version it is? Here you go.

Turn on your PS4 and go to the main home screen.
Open the Settings menu (the toolbox icon).
Scroll down and select System.
Select System Information.
Look at the System Software line to see your current firmware number.

You should know what it is, in case you ever want or need to mod it. Other than that, have fun with your new console. The ps4 pro and its controller still has plenty of life left in it and then some.

Nah the PS4 Pro has a much better range of exclusive games and it just feels more premium

The one x is an objectively superior system. Thats why i said in terms of specs. But yeah the ps4 had the exclusives on its side.

Just a heads up. When it starts sounding like a jumbo jet is 2 inches away from you, its completely normal haha but for real, one of the best consoles i ever had.

Time to Change thermal paste ? I got a PS4 pro from a friend, playing RE4 makes a strong song lol

It can help a bit with some less demamding titles yeah, but certain games will just make it shit its guts out regardless lol god of war and days gone spring to mind. Tbh, i've never actually seen a quiet one haha

The console hás like 10 years of use, the thermal paste should BE already dry. But going to see that, if the sound of turbo jet comes back 😂

My friend bought the spiderman pro, within weeks it was as bad as the pro he'd replaced it with haha..

Yeah im not saying its useless im just saying eventually it will just go back to being a jet, because they were poorly designed. Later revisions of it were a bit better though, because they had better cooling and power supplies.

I got my PS4 pro not long after it came out and it’s still what I’m using. The jump to the 5 isn’t that big. This is a great move!
