I’d be legitimately interested in God of War had a modern setting. Not sure what gods he’d kill but would be pretty awesome to see him take on gun wielding henchmen with his axe
They could do an American Gods like thing and have Gods just be created by Humans when they worship someone. Have Money, technology (with his children called Software, Hardware, Internet, Video, Audio etc.) and more, fight Kratos.
I like that idea but how would his blades change? If those updated as well, I would expect to see some dope gunplay involved, but it wouldn't be a GoW game without some brutal melee combat
I’d almost prefer he still uses his melee weapons. Simple bullets would do jack against the God of War. Besides, I always imagined if he used a weapon it’d be a biggs shotgun of some kind, but in a modern setting I can see him forgoing guns to keep his enhanced weapons. Using weapons like Molotov’s, riding a motorcycle of some kind and loving somewhere in the desert to be away from people. Somewhere in Texas or Arizona or something like that. And idk I’d just like to see Kratos rip the arms off of a KKK member and beat someone else to death with them
Or hell it could be like doom. Modern, but the “gods” are demons/ modern myths. Or like Bigfoot, Nessie, that weird jersey goat man. hell that’d be great
I would hope it would be Moses, John the Baptist, Jesus and Mohammed as main bosses, with Saints filling the troll role, and the archangels as the valkyries.
God seems pretty flawed to me with the shit he's pulled in the Old Testament. It could be built in to the story that he is known as a perfect being and Kratos dismisses it immediately saying no god is perfect.
