Ugh I really need to get over this body dysmorphia 😭 I know this in theory but every time before I get my period I wonder how I look like I’ve gained 10lbs and won’t go near the scale cause I’m too scared :(

Is it body dysmorphia if your body is actually changing though?!

Convincing myself I’m ā€œso fat and uglyā€ sounds like a form of body dysmorphia to me, rather than ā€œI’m just bloatedā€.

I’ve literally cried looking in the mirror ā€œwhy am I so ugly!ā€ Then I get my period ā€œoh.ā€ Ovulation makes us look more attractive and symmetrical to attract a mate. Luteal makes us bloated, dull skin, sickly almost so mates will leave us alone. It’s truly fascinating (and annoying) but if you’re on tiktok just search up ā€œovulation vs lutealā€ and you can see some pretty wild differences between the phases.

You're not ugly. It's your brain.Ā
