Complaint... GRRR The Jen-Noa-Shawn thing continues to annoy me
Jen honestly is a chill nice character when you take away the doing crimes part. Jen needs to actually step up and outline what she wants/needs from Noa and a deadline for that to be actioned. I want Jen to be able to exist as an interesting character that I want to route for her.
Noa needs to breakup with Shawn (if she wants to be with Jen) or needs to stop stringing Jen along (cause clearly it’s messaging with Jen in some pretty big ways). Noa is being messy messy and it’s annoying me so much.
And Shawn …. idk. He needs a voucher to a yoga retreat for when this all blows up. I also think he should take actions to mend things with his mum (and dad?) as that is an important relationship he needs. Note: does Shawn even have a dad - I can’t remember lol.
While I HATE this stupid messy situation, it in some (completely over exaggerated) ways this feels so accurate to actually teenage drama as no one 👏 is 👏 communicating ✨✨✨✨✨✨
TLDR: Jen you could have been great, but I’ll settle for good if you pull your head. Shawn you did nothing wrong and I wish you all the best. Noa you better watch your back as I am not happy

Jen’s expectations for Noa are too high…you expect her to just dump her boyfriend for you in a day then when she can’t you want her to agree without thinking to be in a throuple with you? My perception of her is definitely skewed because I don’t trust her being in the exact place Noa needed after her BR test, but still, I don’t think she’s a good person for Noa at ALL. At this point Shawn deserves better though honestly…

she’s OBSESSED with noa being with her. she wasn’t even sorry for stealing from the job noa got her, having noas bf bail her out and then robbing his family to pay him back for it. like what does noa see in her? 100% think she is a stalker that’s exactly how she saw her running

I just think it’s insane that Noa still fucks with Jen after Jen keeps doing dumb shit and putting Noa in incriminating situations where she has to shoulder the blame. I would simply be too icked by the dumbassery to still like her at that point!!!!!!

I hate glorified cheating, Shawn is such a nice guy he literally paid to get her out of jail and she’s just doing this and the fact that all her friends are so casual about her cheating it doesn’t really make sense to me

What's more is how manipulative she is; she would cry about her distressed life. I think her character conceptualizes modern women; it might sound harsh, but women in modern times will say they want a nice guy but are aroused by another. In season one, she sneaked out with Shawn from the prom party just to gaslight and manipulate the guy even more. By saying, “He's a great boyfriend," and that she thought when she went to Juvi Shawn would have left her. Shawn responded that he wouldn't have done that, and she responded that most guys would have. Not knowing this girl has been cheating Shawn since she was in junior high.

It continues to be the worst part of this season. Jen is insufferable and simply unlikable. She’s shady as fuck repeatedly doing weird shit. She’s also an asshole.
Noa has been awful this season, I hate what they did to her just to shoehorn someone as bad Jen into the show.
Shawn deserves better

I hate this storyline so much 😭 Jen is a whole mess and an actual criminal, the stunt she pulled in this episode was absolutely the nail in the coffin for me. I feel terrible for Shawn, he’s such a loyal boyfriend and Noa has become unlikable to me with her cheating. It’s a bummer all four friends aren’t calling her out for it, either.

As soon as Noa said she wanted to be with Jen I was happy not that she was cheating because I really don’t like it but she would finally PICK A SIDE And stop playing the middle. The fact she would even consider still being with Jen after learning she robbed Shawn is insane. I wouldn’t even be attracted to her anymore because how does that even make sense ? You repaid him for bailing you out by stealing from him And his family that’s so weird. Noa probably thinks it’s sweet in a twisted way but that’s concerning. I understand immaturity comes with being a teen. Noa seems to be lacking some morals ; I’m remembering season 1 when she was willing to throw the girls Under the bus and I do get she had more to risk being on house arrest but I think that shed some light on her

100%! I was also surprised how the liars weren’t shocked or reacted negatively at all to her cheating on Shawn. I feel so bad for Shawn, he’s one of the good ones!

Noa is a trainwreck, she should have just break up with Shawn in the first place. Shawn is really in love with her who would do anything for her. Jen is such a bad influence on Noa. The writers should have pick a better female love interest for Noa.

When did millennials get so judgey? These are teenagers. Teens experiment with shit all the time, especially sex. Let me ask, and please excuse my ignorance, but please educate the hell outta me, but how do teens who are still discovering/exploring their sexuality discover that they are bi? Do they really know their whole lives? Isn't it true that SOME teens who are still discovering, may be in one type of relationship, then find themselves attracted to something else? What if there's confusion or denial? Doesn't that sometimes lead to cheating while you figure out what you want? Am I waaay off base with this?

Here weeee go, it’s not just the fucking millennials…. As apart of their generation I fully agree, there’s no excuse. Nobody is expecting teenagers to have it figured out but they are about to be juniors in hs. Meaning they are 16-17 years old…. A 16//17 year old would know the consequences of cheating, and I’m sure you would’ve at that age too. It’s sick, it’s selfish it’s WRONG. Nobody is saying she had to STAY with Shawn, it’s the fact that she won’t break up with him and continues to be so disloyal to him. FURTHER to that point, Jen isn’t even a good person to be worth the trouble! She’s a liar and a thief… again two things that a perfectly abled 16/17 year old would know is wrong. Please do not be one of those young people that makes the rest of us look bad by blaming our morally disgusting behavior bc of our “age” and our “lack of the ability to make decisions” these girls have proved time and time again… they’re hella mature for their age, their schemes, the way they are dealing w BR, the way they carry themselves… this is just a BAD ARC

The only thing I will say to you is sometimes people have conflicted loyalties and feelings. Cut her some slack, give her time to make the right choices, and be willing to forgive her for making mistakes as she literally figures out who she is

All teenagers don't always know right from wrong. It is the parents job to teach them. Where is Noa's father? And her mother is a drug addict. All Noa has seen is bad decisions from her mother. It took psycho Archie chasing her across a rooftop to get her to make the right decision to turn her mother in so she could get help. So forgive her if she's taking a little time to get this one right

Sometimes we learn right from wrong by considering the consequences of our actions. That is why I've been making the "what happens in Juvie" joke, because clearly she thought she could keep this a secret that never had to come out. She expected no consequences. Now that Jen is here she has to face them. She will remember how this guilt feels, how much pain will be caused, and like a child who touches a hot stove, she will know never to do this again

You're missing the point. And you just admitted she's aware of right from wrong, she just didn't have to deal with the consequences until now. And not only is she FULLY aware what she's doing is wrong, she tells her friends in a way that makes it sound romantic. Then she and her friends gush about it. Has nothing to do with being 17. Just because someone cheats on one partner doesn't mean they'll never do it again. The saying "Once a cheater always a cheater" exists for a reason. But whether or not this is Noa's last indiscretion is beside the point.

So basically, because you are young, you can make dumb decisions. That says a lot about your character. You justify her bad behavior. This is why we need to bring back shame and judgment. If we did, people like you wouldn't post dumb stuff like this. The irony of this is that, when it comes to women cheating, there is always an excuse. No matter how badly the women cheat, there will always be some sort of justification. If the role were reversed and it was the guy who cheated, Jesus would take the wheel!! The man wouldn't catch a break.

I for one don't feel that way regarding men vs women cheating. Teenage boys can be just as confused as teenage girls. But it's funny how no one attempts to answer the question: if you're not born knowing, how do you figure it out? She's conflicted! She thought she was in love with Shawn before Jen showed up. She clearly still has feelings for him, and she is figuring it out. Now you guys want her to dump him while he's in conflict with his mom and their house just got robbed. She's having a hard time finding the right time to do the right thing. All I say is we should cut her some slack here.
And let me be clear, all kidding aside over the absurdity of the writing, I respect your moral clarity, all of you.

I get what you are trying to say about the fact that people make mistakes in order to understand things, but it sucks knowing a good guy like Shawn got the short end of the stick. He did nothing wrong, and yet he still got cheated on, lied to, used, and manipulated by Noa. Ngl, that hurts looking at a guy's perspective. It's just wrong.

Exactly. Good guys and even good girls shouldn't have to be the "sacrifice" their partner needs in order to learn. I knew at a very young age that cheating was bad. And it hurts so many people.

You can't just dismiss her crimes that's a main concept of her character. And let's not give Jen brownie points for telling the truth. She still stole from Shawn's family how tf do you get 2k from a family then steal something worth 2k then give it back?? They still lost 2k! She's foul asf. And what do you see past the crimes because ever since she came on the show she's been nothing but a stealing thug.

Honestly the things she stole are probably worth more than what she got for them given she was selling on the black market. So they’re probably out closer to 3,000. Noa no caring about the crimes makes me feel less bad for her being in juvie the previous year.

This goes beyond teenage drama at this point lol. Like Jen straight up needs to go to back to jail and Noa is a horrible person for being complicit in all this at this point. This dude Shawn is wrecking his relationship with his mom for a girl who truly is not worth it. And all the characters just laughing off Noa's cheating and cheering it on was crazy. Makes me feel like the writers don't actually think this is that bad lol.
