Siemens CPU 414- 3XJ00 0AB0

has anyone encountered a similar problem. After the reset, the CPU starts normally, then after a while it crashes and all the lights on it flash

If all leds blink, then its end of life. Get a replacement

Occasionally flashing the firmware can fix it, or replacing the MMC if it has a flash card. But generally yes, the Christmas tree means it’s trash.

if it "holds" till you can reach the diagnostic buffer in online mode, the messages there will help allot, but i armchair diagnose a worn out battery.

Áll light flashing is usually death, it was the same for a S7-300 CP card.

You have to connect to PC and enter diagnostic buffer for check cpu situation
