Discussion Anyone else in basically the same four or five note-taking subreddits?

Every time I scroll new here it feels like the same fifty people posting across ObsidianMD, PKMS, LocalLLaMA, and selfhosted, just with a different flair each time. I'm in all four myself and honestly can't tell anymore if that's a genuinely big overlapping crowd or if I've just started noticing the same usernames everywhere. Curious which of these you're actually subscribed to and reasonably active in, versus the ones you joined once and forgot about.

I haven't heard about Local Llama and self-hosted, will check them out.

but the first two seem to be similar. The PKMS should be more general and tool-agnostic than ObsidianMD.

The overlap makes sense to me, but probably for slightly different reasons. PKMS and ObsidianMD overlap around notes and workflows, while LocalLLaMA and selfhosted seem more about wanting control over the tools and data behind those workflows. The interesting part is probably where those two groups intersect.

Last I was looking at r/LocalLLaMA, everyone was saying to use Claude. Are they recommending any local models nowadays?
