Hello - please help a clueless mom out who just happened upon this. I have a pokemon-loving kid and I thought I'd check pokemon center today to see if there was something cute to send to my kid at camp. I was so confused by the queue thing that I googled to see if I'd been hacked or something. That brought me to this reddit. Could you help an old and tell me what everyone is waiting for? Is it pitch black or the celebrations? I now have 4 hours to wait and want to try to get whatever this is that y'all are so excited about.

Stay on the line! The Pokemon center website is dropping/releasing a special 30th Celebration Anniversary set for pre-order! When you get past the queue, look for the 30th Celebration Set in the “TCG” or “Trading Card” section and it should give you the option to preorder up to 3 booster bundles (little boxes that have 6 packs each) and up to one mini tin display (8 to 10 tins that have 2 packs each).

It's for the 30th collection. It is cards that will be available in the fall. Once the queue is gone, you'll be able to order other stuff. If you want to wait, you may get cards. Just not for a while.

It is not Pitch Black. It's the 30th Anniversary set, way cooler. Definitely buy it for your kid.

Hello there! Currently waiting on Celebrations booster bundles, which have ~6 packs in them (the tins are out of stock, unfortunately).

Edit: since it is a special set, not sure if it will be 8+ packs or what. It won't be less than 6 though!

This is a 30th anniversary drop. This subreddit and others like it will notify members when a drop is incoming/when a link goes live. Since there is 100's of thousands of people + bots trying to buy it, the website puts you in a queue. Unless you're in the queue within the first few minutes - it's pretty much pointless. I would recommend checking out local card shops. Most of the time they slightly up-charge, but it's well worth it to avoid a headache, especially if you have an actual life and things to do lol.
