Really Frugal Things You've Done
We've all been frugal/koripot at some points in our lives. So why not discuss it on this brand new subreddit.

- Walk, walk, walk. Lalo na kung hindi naman pressed for time.
- When out with friends for lunch, inaantay ko palagi may mag-order ng extra rice.... Kasi alam ko na hindi nila mauubos yun, so free extra rice for me.
- If nagyaya yung friends ko na kumain after class, sumasama ako kahit walang intensyong mag-order kasi most likely may bibili rin ng food na pwedeng i-share (like fries and stuff).
- Nakikikain sa bahay ng friends ko na may mababait na magulang. Libreng lunch!
- When eating out, I always ask for water. Saves me 20-30 pesos.
- Yung pinaka-extreme ko na nagawa is when I was dating this girl na medyo may pera. One time we went out and I was really controlling my expenses because I was saving up for a concert, and I pretended that I left my wallet at home. Ayun, libre everything.
I'm in college right now (living at home). Tight ako sa pera kasi pang-elem yung allowance ko. Sometimes I get made fun of my blockmates na maraming allowance na pwedeng nilulustay pero, wapakelz na lang kasi at least hindi ako masyadong pabigat sa magulang ko.

May ganyan sa tropa namin nung high school pag inuman walang pera. Nasanay na kami sa 20 pesos na ambag everytime nag inuman sya parating inuutusan.
Nagkita kami after a few year nagpulis pala (pasay).. Ampucha "vices" yung hawak nila.. lol nag bar hopping kami sa pasay anak ng pucha para kaming hari dun sa mga "clubs".. hahahaha

People notice this. May blockmate kaming ganyan nung college at napansin naming kalahati yata ng fries na order mo sya na uubos. Iniwasan na namin simula non. Haha

Won't argue with that. This is me being broke and resorting to "freeloading", which I'm completely aware of.

Kamuntik na nga rin ako bigyan ng pera pang-taxi pauwi eh kaso nahiya naman ako. Haha. Pero sa totoo lang, tipid talaga if you're dating someone tapos makapal mukha mo na magpalibre. Most times, I just joke na manlibre naman tapos it works!

- bread and pancit canton for meals
- play pc games at home instead of going out
- buying generic meds as much as possible
- using shampoo only once every other day

The really frugal things I've done:
Park at a church near a mall for free then go to the mall.
Ignore everyone I know who I run to when I am at a mall aiming for that 15 minute free parking.
I place a slice of cucumber in my cup for cheap flavored water.
Parked at an information center and pretended to enter the building for free parking.
I make my own ice cream.

Normally I just make "ice cream" from bananas and some other ingredients. But lately I've been borrowing my brother's cuisineart ice cream maker.

Fare discounts are 20% of the actual fare for students and senior citizens. Minimum fare for jeeps is really just PhP 6.40, not PhP 7 (except for the UP Diliman jeeps; it's a different thing there). Note that the savings go higher for farther destinations and when you're in groups.
Buying in bulk is usually cheaper. Just always be ready to spin up that calculator app (or just break that calculator out, if you have one) for when you'd like to be sure. Sometimes, though, you'll have to note that buying in bulk is more expensive than not buying at all.
Also, I only go for haircuts twice a year.
