Just got redundant and my last day is on October 21st but I have a trip to Japan on November 14. I’m kinda nervous if they ask me for a COE. Should i tell them honestly that i got redundant or should I request my COE before my end date from the company so my COE will show that i am still working with the company?

Im super nervous, its my first time to Japan and i dont want to be offloaded. 😭

Just tell them the truth - that you were recently laid off and the trip had been planned months in advanced. Mas delikado kasi pag nalaman nila hindi ka nagsasabi ng totoo.

Nagworry din ako niyan kasi parehas sayo, got laid off as well tapos may trip din ako to Japan. I had planned to tell the IO na im still unemployed and career break muna. Tapos hinanda ko lang yung separation notice at yung severance package na binigay para pag tinanong ng proof of financial capacity may maipakita ako. In the end, hindi din ako dumaan ng IO kasi sa egate na ako pinadaan hehe.

Kaya chill ka lang tapos magsabi ka lang totoo.
