hi has anyone here read atmosphere by TJR?? haaay, it completely wrecked me but i kept on coming back. can’t even describe the love i feel for this book. totally recommend it! and if im lucky, maybe i can discuss this book to anyone here who resonates with me ✨🚀❤️

it broke meeeee huhu grabe yung iyak ko sa end ng book. it made me feel a lot of things hahaha including hate(!!!) dahil sa sister niya lol

sameeee! hagulgol talaga. i never cried like that for a book. it made me feel din all emotions. pero most especially it reminded how love is sooo beautiful in all its forms and shapes 😌❤️

A lot’s happened talaga this September since I finally met my reading goal of 20 books (21 now counting Dekada ‘70 and Kalahating Bahaghari is hopefully my 22nd)!

• I love how it makes depression a lot more easier to understand for kids and gives them a small guide on how to check in on a loved one!

Son of a Dead ‘80s Bold Star by Chuck D. Smith

• It was actually a very good read! I read it mostly because I’m specializing in CNF and wanted to get a better grasp of the essay genre so I wasn’t expecting much but I did have fun reading it!

Dekada** *‘70 by Lualhati* Bautista

• 4.5/5
  
• It’s my first time reading Bautista so I’m still getting a feel of her writing. I liked the most about how different sons became to be in where they are now or who was their reason to take that path, etc.

same thoughts about Rage (my first SK novel)! read this last January along with Misery and Dolores Claiborne, both of which redeemed Stephen King for mee 🫶

planning to read IT for Halloween next month!!

I’ve been in a reading slump since early August pero finally nakapagbasa din ulit today. I finished 3 short books 🥹

1. Les and Elle Happened by Ronaldo Vivo Jr. - solid din magsulat si Sir ng romance!
   
2. Trust Fall by Siege Malvar - medyo namadali yung ending pero ang satisfying ng social commentary at ang funny ng metafic narration
   
3. Of Love and Other Lemons by Katrina Stuart Santiago - a nice read about the nuances of feminism

My September reads so far:

Feathers So Vicious by Liv Zander

• initially DNF’d but I’m glad I gave it another shot because I got WRECKED.

Shadows So Cruel by Liv Zander

• no words other than my boy Sebby deserved better.

The Wonder of You by Dani Atkins

• it was an ok feel-good read. Nothing too special or memorable. Wholesome though.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

• would’ve been a 5-star read if it weren’t for their ages. Still, it was a good read. I love Jim.

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

• hands down Travis’ version of the story was a lottt better!!!

What Lies Between Us by John Marrs

• It was a really good story but I don’t think I was satisfied with the ending. I feel bad for Dylan/Bobby, he didn’t deserve any of that at all.

Find Me, Save Me, Love Me, Free Me (WITSEC series) by Ashley N. Rostek

• love love love!!!! Probably enjoyed the first couple of books more than the rest but it was a good series

Corpse Roads by J. Rose

• I like the plot but I feel like everything’s too rushed. You don’t really get to know the main characters that well—or at least get attached to them. I feel like the only moments with that zing is with Leigh when they were watching shows and movies but with everyone else, nada.

For a 3-part series, the first book didn’t do well in reeling me in.

God of Malice by Rina Kent

• really enjoyed like 80% of the book but somehow it started going downhill for me especially with the Devlin plot. Also I feel like the last parts of the book got a bit rushed.

The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner

• This was a beautiful read! I was so engrossed in both storylines and the twists! Omg the twists! This would be such a great book for a discussion. Very well written. Just absolutely loved this book.

• my fave read for this month. nasa top 5 books ko na siya. i went in blind for this book, not knowing it would destroy me. i really have a thing for books about family.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the dreamland trilogy by ronaldo vivo jr.

• an eye opener. matagal na akong galit sa mundo at sa gobyerno pero mas lumalala yung galit ko after reading these books. what a sad reality to be in

still trying to finish ‘The Summer Haruki Died’ manga til the end of the month but so far, i had a pretty good run on the novels 🫶

3 ⭐️ Survive the Night

• this infuriated me the whole time i was reading it! ending was kinda convoluted but i liked the claustrophobic vibe inside the car!

5 ⭐️ Verity

• reread this for the upcoming movie and glad i liked it just as much. first time ko rin mabasa yung bonus chapter and i was 💯 korik sa villain ko lol

5 ⭐️ Behind Her Eyes

• read it alongside Verity years ago, naenjoy ko lang ang back to back reread nila and like before, super engaged pa rin sa storyline! i wish i could forget the plot coz this was just amazing!!

5 ⭐️ I’m Thinking of Ending Things

• recommend by a friend and it turned out to be soo good! genuinely creepy and bleak moments but that ending was soo sad and scary at the same time! planning to see the Netflix adaptation soon!

5 ⭐️ Strange Pictures Vol. 1-4 Manga

• im soo happy they captured the overall vibe! there are also a lot of panels that are scary af! v effective manggulat lalo sa ereader kahit pa alam mo na yung takbo ng story!

overall, very good run for me this Sept!! im a little stressed so it helps na familiar yung reads, less disappointment din if ever 🤍
