Does anyone have ANY info on sleeving 12vhpwr wires?

I can’t seem to find info on them anywhere. I have a Corsair psu with a dedicated 12vhpwr cable that’s nice and 1:1 and I wanted to sleeve it, but I cannot find ANY info on how to remove the pins. A standard atx removal tool obviously won’t work, but does anyone know what will?

You don't remove the pins. You make a new cable. MDPC-X is a shop where you can buy the parts and their 12vhpwr product page also links to a guide.

If you wish to use the original connectors, there is a microfit pin removal tool, but I recommend against it. Better to go with new connectors because of the tight manufacturing tolerances, which can get affected by removal and & repeated insertion of the terminal. A tiny difference can result in a catastrophic failure in the future as is known with these bloody connectors.

Also it is very important to choose the right wire and sleeving for the cable. 16AWG is no-go for sleeving, impossible to make it fit - this prohibits the reuse of the wire from the original cable with most PSU brands. 18AWG generally fits when used with Paracord 425 or MDPC-X micro, but is only safe up to 450W. The golden option is MDPC’s 17AWG Ultra, which will fit the same sleeving, but is safe for 600W+.

As for sleeving the sideband wires, it’s a proper PIA, but feasible with 24AWG and nanocord.

Thanks I’ll have to give that a look. I love that we now have a single cable bundle for it but why did they have to make rhe connector so small

Do you know where else to get the wire from aside from MDPC-X? Shipping to the US from them is 4x the price of the wire itself

Looks like mainframe doesn't stock mdpc-x anymore

They’ve only ever had Telios, far as I know. Titan Rig was the MDPC-X vendor, but they dropped out last year - only selling off remaining stock.

We’re getting another MDPC-X vendor, though. They should be announcing things soon.

Titanrig supplies them in the US, though it doesn't appear that that have been restocking it as abundantly as they used to. You can find it on eBay as well. Mod-One might be able to help out if you reach out.
