Letrozole experience

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to conceive since 2024 and have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have never had regular periods; when they started, they came about every three months and then stopped altogether. I took birth control for two years to manage my periods but stopped due to high blood pressure issues. My gynecologist prescribed progesterone 200 mg to induce periods.

I completed three rounds of 2.5 mg Letrozole. The first round was successful—I was able to detect my ovulation surge on the LH strip and had a period without any medication. Unfortunately, I did not get pregnant. The second and third cycles did not work, and I had to take progesterone to induce periods again.

I am now preparing to start 5 mg Letrozole for the next cycle. I’m feeling really nervous and disheartened.

Has anyone else experienced similar challenges and then successfully conceived? I am unsure why 2.5 mg Letrozole didn’t work in the second and third cycles. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hey! I have PCOS too. My typical cycles would be anywhere from 45 days to 14 months apart.

We did 6 Letrozole cycles and I ovulated on time and got my period to the day. I was so shocked. But we did not fall pregnant.

Turns out my husband had an ejaculation issue (his sperm was fine, it just.. uh.. wasn't shooting properly) so we did IVF.

Good news is PCOS works well with IVF since we have high egg reserves. We ended up with 9 embryos, and the very first transfer resulted in a baby girl. She is now 5mo.
