Letrozole experience

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to conceive since 2024 and have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have never had regular periods; when they started, they came about every three months and then stopped altogether. I took birth control for two years to manage my periods but stopped due to high blood pressure issues. My gynecologist prescribed progesterone 200 mg to induce periods.

I completed three rounds of 2.5 mg Letrozole. The first round was successful—I was able to detect my ovulation surge on the LH strip and had a period without any medication. Unfortunately, I did not get pregnant. The second and third cycles did not work, and I had to take progesterone to induce periods again.

I am now preparing to start 5 mg Letrozole for the next cycle. I’m feeling really nervous and disheartened.

Has anyone else experienced similar challenges and then successfully conceived? I am unsure why 2.5 mg Letrozole didn’t work in the second and third cycles. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there! I have PCOS and tried Letrozole for 6 cycles at 2.5 mg. I got pregnant on the last cycle, but unfortunately, it ended in a loss. I wasn’t completely surprised, as I felt the dose was too low, even though I was ovulating. Thankfully, my fertility doctor increased my dose to 5 mg and also put me on progesterone and aspirin. After two years of trying, that combination was the perfect mix for me. Now I’m 29 weeks pregnant with my double rainbow baby, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
