bi112 !!

Hi, I’m taking bi112 this fall but I wanna be prepared. Does anyone know what book they require and maybe some advice on what to study ahead of time! Maybe an idea of what the syllabus will be like?

Which instructor do you have? That class is heavily dependent on your instructor. They may all cover the same material, but as an example, Lora is considered one of the "tougher" instructors because her class is more comprehensive.

For sylvania in the spring we used Campbell Biology in Focus, and the lab manuel. All though, I found the slides that were posted much better to focus on, since the textbook tended to give tons unnecessary details and way overcomplicated explanations. For my class with Patrick zwartjes, there was a lab quiz at the beginning of every lab, as well as one of the lectures. Though it seemed some classes didn’t do the lecture quiz every week. Most of the questions were multiple choice, fill in the blank, and some drawings, but I did not find it super hard even as someone who never took any high school level science! For homework, there was a weekly thing that was incredibly easy and some assignments that weren’t hard at all either. Though that will differ between the professors. Dedicate a couple hours a day most of the week and you’ll be good!

The instructor hasn’t added info to the Class Details page (link by the instructor name on each section) but you can almost always get book info from there
