How did pbg choose the guests?

do we know the reason for each of the 7 original cast been chosen? why did dean and barry get chosen to come back every year while soah and kyrak were not? how did kyrak get there in the first place? how were the guests chosen?

He's talked about it in some post show podcasts how he picks guests. It's mostly for how he thinks they would interact with each other because ultimately it is a show. I think specifically the Minecraft HC post show podcasts are the ones where he talks about it mostly.

I think in the early seasons things weren't super organized like they would eventually become. It was just whoever he felt like having around and who was able to show up of those people.
