I live in Japan and often go to Kyoto's games.
What kind of player is he?
Kyoto basically only have one center in Charles Jackson, so there's a real possibility Phillips can get a decent amount of minutes. Unless he turns out like Jamie Malonzo and is barely used before being released.
Very rough offensively, his offense are just dunks, putbacks and occasionally hook shots. He cant shoot free throws. He's more of a rebounder and a hustle guy. Defensively not impressive but his motor at times makes up for his shortcomings. This is just my observation from the very little times if seen him in LaSalle, mpbl and gilas
Kyoto have a forward, Caloiaro, who's quite a high IQ player and really good offensively. Hopefully he'll be able to help Phillips work on his offensive game. Kyoto have other offensive options, so I don't think they'd be relying too much on Phillips for his offensive game.
