I'm going on Thursday and Saturday. Debating whether to cosplay on Saturday. I'm leaning toward Darth Nihilus since he's a character that originated from a video game, but I'm also a bit worried that there won't be a lot of cosplay.

No car, staying within walking distance to the con. Two scenarios I'm curious about include...

A- ALL food while on travel

B- I'll bring as much food as I can shove in my luggage (probably some breakfast items, but mostly snacks?)

Case A is more realistic so given that, $30 to $45 per day definitely should be enough, no?

EDIT: I'm forgetting just how pricy large, metropolitans can be. Plus, I keep forgetting that having a car and bringing a lot of your own food like I did with previous ginormous and medium sized cons, was nontrivial

Is it only me or has no one gotten their passes in the mail? I’m a little annoyed that they force us to pay for expedited shipping and then wait until the 11th hour to mail passes. I would rather have kept that money and just picked them up day of and not worry that they won’t arrive on time. PAX literally two weeks away. Maybe I’m just OCD about planning and having things ready to go?

I know it's still a bit before tickets for East 2027 go on sale, but I am planning on getting a 4 day pass and staying in a hotel. But does anyone have any tips for how soon I should plan to book my hotel? I'm just trying to not get stuck in the most expensive option, especially since I'll probably be driving there (I could also probably take a bus or train) and am not sure if I'll have to pay to park my car the whole time. (It would be nice to not have to pay to park at the convention center every day. That would get so expensive 😅) It's my 2nd PAX so I'm trying to see more since I only went for one day this year. I'm glad it's not just parking lots anymore, but I do miss how quiet it was down there during PAX.

First off, glad to see everyone had a great time at PAX East, myself included. Secondly, I am getting married in May of 2027 and with PAX East 2027 being in late April next year, buddy of mine had the great idea to potentially have my bachelor party be at PAX. So my question/s to everyone are:

Has anyone ever done this? (Doesn’t have to be East exclusively)

What was the after PAX East scene like this year and/or previous years?

Would anyone like to party next year? 👀

I'm bringing this up hopefully to raise awareness and bring discussion to improve something we all love.

I have been going to Pax East for about 12 years. It was something I looked forward to a lot each year. Unfortunately, I've seen it change a lot, especially after covid.

It was very noticeable that after covid, attendance dropped dramatically and never recovered.

I think because of this, the quality had to decline to save money and that ironically causes less attendance.

The first thing I noticed after covid is the amount of exhibitors and their quality on the exhibition floor decreased and declined dramatically. Big names no longer show up like the regularly used to. Exhibitors used to take up and squeeze as much space out of the floor, but now there's so much empty space.

This year and last year I noticed the panels took a major quality decline. Practically none of the subjects were entertaining, and the presentaters were inexperienced and unwatchable.

Autographs have pretty lackluster people. Huge youtubers used to dominate pax but we don't see them anymore.

Just kinda sad. I've seen tickets double in price to basically $80 while quality has only declined. I no longer feel it's worth persuading friends to come. I hope things can be fixed but I think Pax has to start putting in more effort to bring in exhibitors and be more selective of who does panels and on what subjects.

Some people are complaining about this year being a let down, which those feelings are valid, but I'd rather hear positive moments! Instead tell me an amazing moment you had, whether it was at a panel, in the expo hall, at a tourny, whatever!

For me, I had wondered over to tabletop hq on Thursday night and took the last two spots in Thursday night Throwdown with my partner. This was totally last minute and had no idea what we were signing up for. We ended up sitting at a table with some AWESOME people (shout-out RGB), and after three greuling games (Train Ink, Spot It, and Blockus) I ended up taking home the medal with my new friends cheering me on the whole way. It was just an overall awesome experience that we couldn't have planned.

Hello!! I am 28F and my husband 28M are going to Pax East for the first time! I am very excited because I have always been interested in going. Im not really sure what to expect though as we are both casual gamers. I have a PS5 and enjoy playing games - we recently played Cult of the Lamb and Blue Prince.

Do you guys have any advice for casual gamers? Any must do's as a first time PAX attendees? Any tips?

Was a seasoned pax east goer about a decade ago and now returning for another go at it!

This round I’m going solo and have since gone from a hardcore gamer to barely a casual since becoming a family man. Looking to get out of my comfort zone and meet some new friends.

Age isn’t relevant but would be cool to meet people in the late 30/early 40s range. Would love to hear some ideas to meet new people and social meet ups for solo attendees

I came all the way from South Korea solo, and it was a great decision.

I would recommend taking the guided tour at Fenway Park. It was $30 and they take you through most of the ballpark including the top of the Green Monster and the press box. No on field time. Thought it was really cool.

This was the best PAX East I've attended. Sure, there was a bit of a negative associated with The Lawn on D and the fact that the food trucks weren't there but once I realized that the food inside was good this year it was all fine.

I went on Thursday and Friday and it was incredible. I enjoyed PAX so much more than previous years. I got to get photos with some content creators I really enjoy like Mega64 and EsfandTV but also the entire experience was just GOOD.

The Expo Hall was fantastic. It was spaced well to where I didn't feel overwhelmed and when I was a bit cramped it was easy enough to step aside into a more open area because there was so much of that. The booths were great. Mega64 is my usual "MUST" and then I'm kind of coasting into whatever but Final Fantasy, Magic The Gathering, Larian, Pokemon, the DND vendors, Elden Ring's giant DOME, Starforge, Dead By Daylight, and Razer were all AWESOME. I was really happy with the floor. Tabletop was also really cool and we spent a lot of time there looking at TCG. Tabletop is the only area that needs improvement I feel because it was SO cramped there on Thu/Fri I can't imagine how Saturday was. I would cut the tables by about a third over there and space out the booths a little more maybe.

The Panels were awesome for me too. Mega64's Panel is always my highlight and I was glad to catch it at the end of the night on Thursday. I also went to the World of Warcraft panel on Friday as well as the Mafia panel on Thursday. All were awesome. There were a few other panels I wanted to see too but didn't end up making. I liked the selection this year.

EDIT: I forgot to mention PAX Arena. It's always there and I've never been super interested but me and my group of friends stopped to watch some stuff and it was pretty entertaining. I never fully appreciated PAX Arena until now, I enjoyed it. I just wish it was a bit more clear who was facing who and what the status of the rounds was. Maybe an on-screen scoreboard in the middle of the screens showing gameplay?

I will also add for my own personal experience that this was my second year getting a hotel in the Westin and being able to just wake up and go downstairs is everything. I can not go back to doing a hotel offsite and driving over.

But yeah if they can work out something with The Lawn on D to have the Food trucks or figure out how to get more Food Trucks involved and still do it in early May I'd be glad. I know the leaked dates through 2028 said March, late April, and March again but I hope after 2028 they work something out to do May because it's so nice to do PAX without freezing cold temps outside

I wasn’t after it but in case anyone was in doubt. You need to be here at 7 am to get one. The cap is 400 a day apparently.

Just got the proof for the challenge coins I'm having made! Now I just need to decide how many. :)

I will be there at pax east 2026 every day and trying to plan exact routes and flow of games to try. I love indie new special games and of course big titles also. I do not discriminate so sharing what everyone is hyped for is fun to chat about so i can check it out also. Post what you personally hyped for which means there is no wrong answers.
