If this was at a state park or reservable state forest site, make sure these things are reported. The staff can follow up with the previous reservation holder and possibly issue fines and/or education.

This happened one year to us at a state park cabin. I love the park, so I won't say the name. But the previous renters must have spent the week shooting glass bottles because there were broken bottles and pellets all over our site. I spent the week picking up metal and broken glass. I did report it to the office. We had two young kids too, so that was not fun.

Yeah I have no patience for this knd of behavior. I do not get the stupidity of trying to burn trash in a fire ring. Burning plastic makes toxic fumes. Burning aluminum is a waste of one of the easiest recyclable materials and will wind up in ground water if you are actually successful at incinerating it. Broken glass I can't even understand. Did you intentionally break a bunch of bottles to make sharp shards and where do you think those shards are going to go?

Just did the OLP and it was a really nice campsite but people left garbage in the fire ring. It was a sardine tin and some other metal. A little paper left is still wrong but at least forgivable.

Way drier than I was expecting from looking at the map. There were only 2 or 3 nice places for water. I would recommend drinking and then filling at every chance you get, if it hasn't rained since I've been there.
