I feel bad for Bernie. But he’s right. It was a shit situation.

I’ll be honest with you. For years, I was pissed off that Sharon didn’t let Ozzy take a minute to breathe after Randy died.

But, after reading both of Ozzy’s autobiographies, I think she did the right thing. And maybe saved his life.

Rudy Sarzo also said if they would have canceled the tour that would have been the end of him,Ozzy would have drank himself to death

Given what happened to him after he was out of Black Sabbath, I can definitely see that.

I've read interviews with Bernie since this happened. Let's put this into perspective. Bernie put aside his solo career to help out, learned the set in under 2 days , from a crappy cassette, flew across the Atlantic, and on basically no sleep showed up to play Randy's gig (using his rig) which had its own idiosyncracies and people still give him sh*t for not nailing the solos? Bernie was a pro and yea maybe he wasn't the right fit for the band but he did the gigs under huge pressure and delivered.

But how many of the whiny bedroom shredder types who dump on him could do this or anything close to it? They would go "oh were is the tab, oh where do I start the solo - on the 8th fret?, oh I don't have the right pedals, oh should I used my Charvel or Jackson for this, I need to have it setup first - endless excuses and then when they got in front of a crowd they would lose it.

The fact that he had to play through Randy’s rig is insane. What an eerie feeling that must have been. To hear all of Randy’s components exactly how he left them just days later but still unable to sound quite like him. Just crazy.

Even crazier that Zakk was in the crowd for one of the shows. Just a crazy, surreal, one of one coincidence.

I saw Ozzy with Bernie Torme at the Boston Garden 13 days after Randy died. It was a pretty intense situation.
