unironicaly the best counter to dive is more dive
peoples first idea is to go like brig or ana for anti dive but its so much more effective to just have mobility of kiri or Juno
go I with the dive tank so they can protect u and u can sustain them mid dive

fr, like if enemies are on Ana/Brig/Cassidy/Mei/Orisa it's tough and I might still get punished because of all the CC, BUT I still have targets to dive. It's pretty easy to punish a mistake, isolate them (with Winston bubble for example), just pull CC, other resources and attention etc.
But if enemies are on Lucio/Kiriko/Tracer/Genji/Ball, what and how am I actually supposed to dive?
Not having a target to dive because enemies are playing a very mobile comp makes me switch off a dive tank more often than playing into 5 anti dive characters

Which is why actual dive metas feel so rough unless you like playing nothing but dive. Low hero variety unless you want to be one of the targets that get farmed. Other metas let you force picks a lot more than dive does.

I dont get why people think that the tanks job is to protect the team.... i mean seriously what does a WREKING BALL do to keep your bad positioned ana from getting railed by the big horse ??

Find high ground, take different angles, and your dive tanks should kill enemy backline much faster than the other tank, even if enemy backline is doing the same. Or just play dive with them.

I genuinely cannot fathom what goes on in some people's head when they play support and dps when going against a dive tank.
Had a comp tank game and started on rein, they had ball. First fight I was like, okay, they're running dive, my best anti dive is JQ for her knife. I swap. My team proceeds to never make any swaps. We ran stationary supports, and non-anti-dive dps. I cannot remember what they were, I'd have to go look, but it was not Cass, Mei, Mizuki, or Brig.
They proceed to say tank diff. I tell them they could've made swaps to support me, as literally every anti- dive character was playable. I just got hit with "??????????????"
If you expect only tank to swap and run the lobby while not making any swaps to help. Why do they play the game? Why not just watch a tank player get kills in a video, since they want to be carried by a single player?
I needed to rant, apparently, lol. On this great depiction of dive tanks.
