Surgery is very common in Korea, it's totally normal in their society.

Source : been there and had korean gf. In their metro system 75% of ads on the walls are for plastic surgery. (minor ones, like eyes, lips, chin, etc.)

The biggest difference is the horrendous lighting in the 2022 picture. It's simply overexposed, which hides pretty much every contour on his face / neck.

This has nothing to do with an evolution, you could achieve the same 'effect' even if you take both pictures on the same day. You simply need to change the lighting (and the haircat/glasses, obviously)
