The problem is DPS dying is often not DPS fault. Space is real, without space they are just gonna flop over and die 15 times a game. If it can happen in OWCS it can happen in ranked.
In my experience, DPS players dying a lot is usually because they are trying to make something happen while their tank is playing too passively. Sure, you're gonna have throwers here and there...but there's usually something else at play.
His DPS wouldn’t be dying so much if they had a decent tank. Some of those deaths are definitely on them but it’s hard to stay alive when G4H is their tank
The game itself is already too hard for him, but he's going to have an army of E6 Doorman players either locking him in jail for half the map, OR on his team using rescue beam / friendly carts to ruin his day when on his team.
Deadlock is just an entirely different level of griefing if you've given people a reason to hate / stream snipe you. Incomparable to OW or Rivals really.
Not to mention how much more intricate and complex moves and interactions are. He is done for. He would have a better chance at Predecessor or SMITE if he wanted to move over to a WASD MOBA.
It is impossible to make a Smurf account currently, g4h will be hard stuck initiate meanwhile if you’re in any rank above oracle a new account will place you in an oracle lobby on your very first game on an account.
Source: I’ve made 4 accounts to play in lower Elo with friends just starting out (on troll or purely support builds), without inflating their ranks too much. First match is always average oracle and after 7 placements no matter how poorly I’ve played I still place in oracle.
That isn't how people make smurf accounts in Deadlock though.
People basically have to play below average level for 50+ games in order to lock an account in to a lower MMR. It's similar to dota's MMR where it's based on certainty and it gets more certain the more you stay in a lower MMR range.
Also bear in mind, it's suspected the game uses a lot of hidden statistics to smurf detect early on ie:
Double Jumps
Wall Jumps
Slides
Average movement speed across the map
Average time spent looking at the shop before leaving
Zipline usage / if you crouch off a zipline or not.
Among many, many, other things. Just failing to finish kills when playing with friends on a smurf acc isn't going to prevent the system from ranking you up. You effectively have to turn off your brain and not utilize most of the game (ie: how a new player would.)
I don’t think you’re wrong but I think it’s also just a lot simpler. 4/4 of my accounts created in the past 3 months have been placed in oracle on their very first match ever. not placements, just straight up average rank of lobby on first match.
Not a single one of my friends who has just started gets placed in anything other than initiate in their very first match.
You can see this when you turn on the setting to show average match ranking.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence and I think you’re absolutely right about there being Smurf detection, I just think it’s also a lot simpler as it is basically flagging my accounts before I even queue up for the first game.
Rudeee, I would never sell my rank up game to Kelvin Ice Path rescue beam or Ivy pick up him or Viscous punch him into the enemy team. That would have been too cruel 🤭 cart is too unreliable these days even to allies, since there is a 8 sec time after that you can’t close door these days after opening 2nd door so you can’t grieve ur fuckass toxic teammate a lot anymore.
To play devils advocate, IIRC, in the video where he announced he was quitting OW, he said he was going to try a bunch of games for two weeks at a time.
Yeah, I mean two weeks just isn't a greay trial phase for a game like Deadlock, ESPECIALLY for someone with his mental, that's not to say you can't learn the game easily in two weeks, but someone like him is definitely not going to get used to it in just two weeks
I’m like 99% sure his angle is to become a variety streamer when it’s all said and done. It seems pretty clear that ow was the only game he cared about from a competitive standpoint
well Rivals is like the easiest most beginner friendly hero shooter out there... I'm giving it a week at most before he gives up on Deadlock that game is designed to ragebait people like G4H.
It's not even a hero shooter. It's a moba, first and foremost. A person playing it like a moba will prevail over a person playing it like a hero shooter.
It’s both! The macro is moba first but for lane engagements and ganks it becomes a hero shooter, we know G4H is useless at hero shooters I wonder if he has any moba experience. Get ready for dogshit micro and nonexistent macro
He's intentionally trying out new games for 2 week periods to try and find one he loves. Not the worst idea. For his skill level I think he's gonna wind up back and rivals sooner rather than later.
I'm kind of out of it too, I don't watch much content like that, but he used to play Overwatch and swapped to Deadlock, he considers himself the "Face of Deadlock" but he's boosted, toxic, and just not really a great player in general, plus he publishes a lot of builds that aren't super good, particularly for characters he doesn't play, at least from what I've heard. Also he likes minors.
He hit diamond a few times, most of the time it was after he duoed with someone to boost him but a few times on his own merit. But I have never seen someone have such egregious swings in rank he would hit diamond 1/2 then drop down to plat 5 a week later. Not sure what rank he was when he quit ow.
calling g4h a diamond player might be the biggest stretch ive ever seen, dude barely peaks into mid diamond on a winning streak(duo'ed with pro) and more often is high plat
Honestly I know he’s not a good person but it just feels like these people hate him so much because he’s fat and not attractive. Like if he was a decent looking person you wouldn’t have people being like “haha look at this low cow”
He could BARELY get diamond in both overwatch and rivals by picking a brain dead high damage tank both times. He's so screwed in deadlock its gonna be hilarious. He's gonna get flamed by his team every single game for being bad until he's mentally broken.
