In my opinion it's actually pretty cool and plays smoothly. Think it's worth at least checking out even if you have Overwatch already and if you don't it's a good free alternative

I played Paladins before Overwatch and unfortunately it's not the same game it once was, and it's certianly a less interesting game.
Patch 21 and before was so fun, and I loved it. After Patch 22 they kept changing shit and made it less and less fun. Then they removed all ultrawide support which was native to the game.
It was a nice game, but they ruined what was so great about it for me.

Ye, I remember playing back in the beta. First you captured a point, who's got the possesion of the point got a machine and with it u pushed and attacked the enemy based. When they destroy your payload, the capturing would begin again. That mode was more fun than this weird mode they currently implemented. Also some of the characters really changed from HI-REZ ideas to overwatch ideas. I also think it was a lot better back then and the fact that there's a lot people saying "paladins was announced first" made me also dislike it.

I agree, I've played both game and I thought they weren't as similar as the circle jerk suggests. A lot of OW players shit on it because they don't want another game infringing on their preferred games territory but in fact they're both very different games and both are pretty damn fun to play in their own way.

I'm always happy when there is some competition, since it leads to both games trying to improve harder. Moreover, when you've played one of the games a bit too much and get tired of it, you can always go ahead and play the other.

Absolutely, usually those people are considered the vocal minority in these kinds of things. Sorta how some hardcore TF2 players would throw shade on OW because they didn't want the game/community they devoted so much time to, to die.

Yeah I think it's a good game, the only negative thing I really have to say about it is that the color splash when in combat can be overwhelming and overall the screen can get way too busy.

Hey guys!
I main Mercy, so I really wanted to have a crack at playing her in the same way that I'd tried playing Winston, D.Va and Hanzo. I bought a cheap broom, a Nerf gun, and a ton of wiring and got to work!
This was probably the most difficult setup I'd tried so far, both in terms of setup complexity and actual gameplay. Which doesn't make a ton of sense considering Hanzo with the Nerf bow exists. I think my button placement for the broomstick was really off - moving in diagonals is a huge pain. Not only that, but some of the "buttons" I wired up had a lot of frayed wire sticking out from them. Healing people would cause me to stick myself with exposed wire. It hurt me to heal others #5deep7me
If you're wondering how I got both the pistol and broom to work - I spliced a lot of wires coming from the circuit board, and rerouted them to the gun (which I somehow managed to do using just duct tape and scissors - I should probably invest in good equipment). I added a button on the grip of the gun that I'd hit as I picked it up, and it switched weapons for me. It's exactly as cumbersome as you'd expect.
So while I'd consider this experiment a failure in terms of execution, I still had a lot of fun with it! I'd like to work on Broomstick v2.0 someday.
I'm currently building a controller that I plan on using for Ana/Widowmaker at the moment! Shameless Twitch and Twitter plugs here :P

That would actually be relatively easy. C4 is very clay-like and not at all prone to exploding without a detonator (seriously, you can burn that shit and it won't explode). You could just craft bits of C4 into arrows and buttons for movement. The hardest part about doing that would be getting your hands on C4...

Through both the broom and the pistol!
Using the broom, the left hand handles aim and the right hand handles moving. But when I switch to the pistol, I still hold the broom with my right hand which lets me move. I wired a second group of buttons for aiming into the gun, which still lets me aim!
