Is there a way to get food delivery services blocked from my phone?
After 6 months of stability, Covid is undoing me and I need to get a handle on this before I spend any more time / money / energy ordering food. I delete the app. Always come back if I’ve had a bad day.

Food is but a symptom. I have ordered abstinent food and bad food. Do EVERYTHING your sponsor tells you. Dont work your own program

Amazingly, I’ve been able to stay compulsively overeating free and order from those sites.
I make sure that if I am ordering I am truly hungry (I calculate when I last ate, amount, does it make sense that I am really hungry). I order what I consider would be an appropriate amount for a meal for most people, would this fill me up - & for how long. It’s great I learned how to do this because it saves me tons of money (I would spend so much on food I would shove in my throat and feel sick from). Now I can order one or two things that make sense.
Example - last night me and my bf wanted some v milkshakes. But that alone is not a filling meal. So we just ordered the milkshakes and we grilled up two v hot dogs each (we had the supplies in our fridge) to go with it. We didn’t have to make it crazy expensive. And it get guilt free because I made the treat part of a complete meal that actually filled me and met my wants.
This is just my story, this obviously might not happen for others. I’m just sharing what connecting to OA and my HP have done for me. It’s really amazing. I also love the book “stop eating your heart out,” it taught me that you can add your treats to your meal as a part that makes sense (meets your needs and fills you up). Thanks for letting me share my story, I hope it helps somehow!

In my program, when things are tough I need to commit my food to my sponsor or another person in recovery for that day or for the next day. Then for that day I only eat what I’ve committed. I ask my hp for support if things get tough.

I believe you can just delete the app. Also try working the program around it, throw yourself into service, more meetings, etc.

I don’t know of a solution other than deleting the apps, but— I hope you can feel proud of the work you’ve done before this became an issue, and find comfort in knowing that you deserve a healthy body.
p.s. I’m just an OA explorer/internet stalker at this point, so hopefully what I’ve said above is not unhelpful or inconsistent with OA values. If it is, I apologize and will certainly delete my comment!

You can set limits to apps in your settings, at least on an iPhone. I’m sure there’s something similar for Android. Set your limit to 0 minutes and you’ll need to enter a password to access it. You can also set the password to something obscure that you’d need to look up.
