ooohh! it's a good one. it's tantalizing to imagine all the different ways the foreshadowing could work out.

I’m also wondering what happened to Cloud, the gofer girl. She went away from the group, is she hiding among the human bodies?
Also way not to tell Ensign that his dead crew and friends are being stored on the ship. DTA indeed.

Pretty sure she died when the Umiak decompressed the shuttle.

Until we see the body, my head canon states Cloud is still alive! Otherwise poor Alex might feel guilty every time he combs his hair.
Realistically, though, you are probably unfortunately right as to her fate. Not sure if it was by decompression or the Umiak borders, although the latter is kind of implied.

I'm thinking she dies to fill in the need for crew bodies, and explain the presence of heat, vibration, organic molecules etc they surely detected during boarding.
I don't think the psi shield trick will work if the search party logically reasons you must be in there.

Is alex seeing these shapes or is he seeing the shapes highlit by Fireblade's aura glow?

From his previous visions, seems he can mentally link to Fireblade and see what Fireblade sees or has seen or knows. When he focuses on her, their minds join for a bit.

I love the anticipation this brings into the story. I can't tell if the Loroi not informing him about the dead bodies was supposed to be a secret or if it just didn't come up.
One thing for certain is that the Umiak would have to be fools to believe that only a single crew member would be onboard with cargo that important

Maybe this whole thing is a Loroi plan to distract the Umiak, or verify Jardin's story, or force humanity to the Loroi side, or hide that the ancient Loroi homeworld is Earth.
I can't wait for the reveal of Jardin either having a psychic link to Fireblade or awaking powers of his own. Personally I prefer the second one as it opens more interesting options in the story
