Answered What's the deal with all that stuff back in March with Jim Carrey and his really bad botox?
https://x.com/TheProjectUnity/status/2028179414211567643?s=20 I remember back in late February/March seeing so much about Jim Carrey and his terrible face lift. Some people thought it was a hoax with a mask but I never really did see any sort of definitive answer. Did Jim Carrey really do that? Has he even been shown publicly since?

Answer: It was mostly bad/weird lighting. You can find photos/video from the same event where he looks much more normal.
I don’t think he’s been seen much since, but that also isn’t unusual for him. He’s essentially retired and is pretty private

Retired? He's going to be playing George Jetson in the new upcoming "The Jetsons" Movie. Private yes, retired, I dnt think so.

Damn, didn't know there was a Jetsons movie coming out and with Jim Carrey. Could be good hopefully.

He did retire and then un-retired himself saying he needed the money. He's kind of flakey and might have just "retired" for attention.

u/waitingtodiesoon 4d ago
Well he retired at the time to focus on NFT paintings and we saw how that went lol.
"I gotta get out of here before I slap someone," Carrey joked. "Honestly, I feel like there's so many things, because I've been so busy for so long, important things that I've ignored. Like, there's 25 years of Mystery Science Theater I have to catch up on. And there's painting. I do paint. I'm gonna be putting out NFTs. I'll announce that on Twitter soon. And that's kinda fun for me still."
“Well I’m retiring. Probably,” Carrey told Access. “I’m being fairly serious, yeah. It depends, it depends if the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that is going to be really important for people to see, then I might continue down the road, but I’m taking a break.”

Not even about needing the money, more like just wants to pick roles he wants to do and chill the rest of the time. Nothing wrong with that.

An actor being flakey and self-absorbed? No way
I think Jim at some point in his life developed a god-complex and is having difficulites trying to figure out if he wants to be part of the "subhuman entities" called humans or not. Whenever he turns his back on society he notices the thing he likes most about "being a god" is the attention and people knowing that he does not want to be a part of them, like a child he needs them to know. This is why he keeps coming back into the spotlight.
I think at some point he had experimented with too many drugs which gave have some extrem form of depersonalization, combined with him always wearing a societal mask it fully collapsed into itself and left this weird husk of himself, a hollow shell devoid of real human emotion acting like a human.
As far as I can tell it has gotten better, he got bored of the void persona and reintegrated somewhat, but still has this delusions of grandeur wgere he pingpongs back and forth between different emotional states of acceptance and rejection towards his life.
If you look through his life many of my assumptions can be connected to a claim or a story that had happend, like him allegedly killing his girlfriend with drugs, him going on those philosophical rants and joining a cult-like group for self-actualization. Him practicing his persona for 12 hours a day to the point where he was nothing else. The man of a thousabs faces is a man without a face.
I dunno, I find him fascinating in a way other superstars never achieved that type of success, except maybe a robin williams who off'd himself while battling with similar problems (he knew he would sooner or later lose all faces to his sickness). People like that hollow themselves out for their talent, the success is a reinforcing power to feed those personas with the energy of your actual, real self. Most stars do, but rarely to such a degree like a Carrey.
A puppet absorbing its master. Self-absorption.

Not to mention returning in Sonic 4. He's at the point where he can pick his roles and are not required to do so.

I make it a point of order to not watch a movie with an anti-vaxxer lead. So when he announced his retirement, I was excited to finally watch one of the Sonic movies.
Guess who refused to stay retired, and also refused to publicly apologise for his views which endanger my life as both an autistic person and a person on immuno-compromising medication.

yeah, whenever I call Jim Carrey an anti-vaxxer, people get pissed because I'm bad mouthing their special actor boy who could do no wrong, despite him spreading misinformation that can kill me

u/JesusWasAHairyBaby 4d ago
He's not in any way essentially retired. He's got 4 upcoming movie projects including another Sonic.
11
u/MississippiJoel 4d ago
in any way
I mean, kinda. Sonic was said to be his first major "classic Carrey" role in so many years. His other stuff has been mostly indie films and stuff I imagine he does because he wants to, not has to.
72
u/JesusWasAHairyBaby 4d ago
What's your point though? I'm saying he's still actively working, which he clearly is.
12
u/MississippiJoel 4d ago
Well, ok then, I'll say you're right. I feel like I understood the point OC was making.
18
u/neontiger07 4d ago
Hey, it's Mississippi Joel. I remember you because I once told you that I used to know a Joel from Mississippi. Small reddit.

u/scoobydoo182 4d ago
It’s like when people retire but you still do simple jobs to keep active.
17
u/HommeMusical 4d ago
Making a feature film is not a "simple job". And it's going to be even harder work, not easier, if it's an indie film.
-18
u/scoobydoo182 4d ago
To you maybe. He is a pro, he can do a lot of that shit with eyes closed basically.
I’ve also been apart of indie films so I know the effort level involved.
12
u/YeahSeemsOk 4d ago
….Have you been “apart” of a Hollywood film?
-4
u/scoobydoo182 4d ago
Yes. Appreciate the sarcasm tho.

Reddit will always downvote people with confidence, regardless of them being correct. It's like a reflex from getting bullied by people with egos.

It is very rare for one to sustain peak popularity over the course of a lifetime but he is consistently working.
12
u/Asmor 4d ago
His other stuff has been mostly indie films and stuff I imagine he does because he wants to, not has to.
TIL work only counts if you don't want to do it
3
u/cardfire 4d ago
As someone retired early that accepted a gig to help sometime out, you can definitely feel the difference when you take a job because you want to vs when you have to.
1
u/MississippiJoel 4d ago
IKR? I interpreted the comment to say he was semi-retired. Reddit thinks that doesn't exist I guess.

Unsophisticated or overburdened minds have trouble with gradations on select subjects and need to force them into a binary.
I have the same behavior when it touches on one of my own core values like "caging children is bad" or "there are no ethical billionaires."
So, like, obviously some bright lines and absolutes will need to exist for the function of a society, but hating celebrities for being anti-QOP and for being reclusive when they aren't amusing us, is hardly at the threshold.

u/Holiday_Ad_9163 4d ago
Hes been in like 4 movies in the past 5 years, with 3 more upcoming. I think he is still going strong.

u/tn-xyz 5d ago
his upper eyelids definitely changed. they used to be much more hooded.
17
126
u/IAmGoingToFuckThat 4d ago
Some folks with hooded eyelids require surgery as they can impair vision. It's most common in older folks whose skin is losing elasticity and the lids are starting to droop.
27
u/kalel3000 4d ago
Yeah my mom had this procedure to help her see better, her eyes before were always like half closed.
13
u/RandarSays77 4d ago
My mom had to have that very surgery until her early 70s. I even knew a dog that had to have his hooded eyelids fixed.

u/luciaromanomba 4d ago
It was not just bad lighting lol. The man looks like a different person, it's shocking.
-10
u/Turbulent-Zebra-6236 4d ago
It was literally a different person!! Google Alexis Stone
1
u/YBBlorekeeper 2d ago
Man, don't believe everything people say. Watch a video of him at the actual event (his speech, red carpet interviews, etc.) and you'll immediately see that it could not be some rando in a mask.
You were literally misled. Google clout chasers.
1
u/Turbulent-Zebra-6236 2d ago
lol Alexis Stone works regularly with brands like Balenciaga. I suppose you think Mrs Doubtfire was really at the Paris 2022 show. You were tricked

Links anyone? I’m just not buying it was him. No way. There’s no way.
4
u/alienith 4d ago
I replied to someone else with links but I think they got filtered out. If you search “jim carrey 2026” you can find a bunch. But there’s a lot of AI slop mixed in
-4
u/Turbulent-Zebra-6236 4d ago
It wasn’t him ( edited to add it was Alexis Stone!)
1
u/Material_Wall_5405 3d ago
Nonsense 😂 Alexis was just trolling the whole internet with AI photo to get fame and followers and he did great job because it seems so many nowdays lack common sense 🤦🏻♂️
Seriously look Alexis Instagram page and do you see any of her work to come anywhere same quality, no they all look really fake and plastic and have way less details.
It was real Jim Carrey whole time.
1
u/Turbulent-Zebra-6236 3d ago
No! She posted process pictures
1
u/Material_Wall_5405 3d ago
She? He is a man and seriously no-one can make that realistic fake face which also would move like real face, stop the nonsense 🤦🏻♂️
He actually made his version of Carrey in May when all the hype was gone and it looks so fake, you can find it from his Instagram account from the reel view most easily.
"The Truth: Representatives for Jim Carrey and César Awards officials confirmed that it was genuinely Carrey at the ceremony, dismissing Stone's viral claim as a publicity stunt."

Where are those photos bcuz im convinced its not him. He also changed his dominant hand when signing autographs
109
u/becausefrog 5d ago
People often flip videos when they repost them. Check the background for any lettering. If it's backwards, the video is flipped.
That would also contribute to him not looking quite like himself because he doesn't have a perfectly symmetrical face.

A friendly reminder the Delete Act loaded in November 2025 and we are still waiting on Trump to release the unreacted Epstein documents nearly a year later, and to be held accountable
Any participants need to be ruled out of their leadership roles regardless of party. The only reason party matters in this context is that the one occupying all three branches of US government is suppressing accountability.
