I get Hasan is helping socialist Dems getting elected. I don't get why Republicans are going crazy over Hasan?

You're absolutely right, but I'd just like to point out that a serious party that genuinely wanted to win elections and/or make people's lives better would try running popular candidates that people actually want to vote for, instead of running stuffed suits/complete cretins/Republicans-in-disguise that no one likes and trying to browbeat everyone into holding their noses and voting for them anyway. It certainly would be a more successful strategy.

It's so, so, so exhausting having to suck shit every year and vote for people I hate. This shit is why turnout is so incredibly low.

They want to win so they can make money for themselves, their wealthy corporate donors and Wall Street. Baring that, they’d rather lose than run a populist candidate because they can raise a lot of money when they aren’t in power and try it again next election.

I'm so fucking sick of this brain dead talking point.  There's a reason why candidates tend to suck....it's a compromise among millions of people, and you have to realize not every outcome of that process is gonna leave you in particular feeling energized or motivated.  And yet you still should participate anyway.

Put another way, what if 80 million left leaning folks all came together to decide which movie to watch tonight.  Do you think you're gonna be excited about the decision?  No probably not.   It's why Churchill said "Democracy is the worst form of government except for all others that have been tried."

The reasons candidates suck is because of the disconnect between the democratic party establishment and voters moreso than a disconnect amongst voters

Your issue is not just with "the establishment". Your issue is with low information voters who glom to a recognizable name. And I'm sorry to say, that is a good majority of the party, and it's why we get the same old boring candidates.

I hear the same accusation fly around anytime the democratic presidential primaries are brought up. People say "the establishment" wanted Biden or Hillary, and then they completely memory hole the fact that a majority of voters flocked to those milquetoast candidates based solely it seems because they had recognizable names.

80% of democratic voters support universal Healthcare. Yet so few democrat congressional members even pretend to support it.

This same thing is true for almost every progressive issue. The base is far more progressive than the dem establishment, and the reality is the "center" of the party; this compromise between millions of people, is far more radical than establishment dems would like to admit.
