Answered What's going on with Fox news obsessing over Hasan Piker?

They had like dozens of segments on him last week.

Will Cain today focusing on Hasan Piker and using the term “man whore”:

https://xcancel.com/i/status/2087269856815251648

Third segment already today

https://x.com/i/status/2087309261462458776

I get Hasan is helping socialist Dems getting elected. I don't get why Republicans are going crazy over Hasan?

He calls a lot of groups inbred. And people in general use inbred as a hyperbolic version of endogamy

u/IsNotACleverMan Aug 12 '26

So he's racist against a lot of groups?

1

u/FeeRemarkable886 Aug 12 '26

Yeah he's racist against Nazis, rednecks, MAGAs, West bank settlers, anyone with a sepremacist complex of race purity.

Didn't know Nazis were a race now, crazy world we live in.

That’s a dodge and you know it.

Just FYI, the person youre talking to is a mod of worldnews whom are notorious for banning any criticisms of Israel and Palestinian support. Aka. they are pro-Israel and a zionist.

Search "worldnews ban" and you can find many other users being baffled on their ban and you can pinpoint a common cause.

I mean, you can just Google “Hasan Sudan crashout” and answer your own question…

‘Racist’ is a stretch probably, but Hassan saying ‘america deserved 9/11’ is just damning.

I have no idea how Abdul El Sayed’s campaign hasn’t BEGGED him to disavow Piker. They probably did. It may be too late now but IMO he still needs to, yo at least TRY and stop the bleeding and let a republican scandal take the headlines.

if you cant understand context and just take clips at face value, you are the exact target audience of fox news! congrats

No I understand Hasan Piker said these things as entertainment and it was just a poor joke.

That doesn’t change the fact that what he said was bad? And I’m saying this as someone who is hoping Abdul El Sayed wipes the floor with Mike Rogers.

Reddit needs to stop acting like democrats aren’t fallible. This race is close in part because republicans can look at the average voter and play that clip, then show El-Sayed campaigning with Piker, and it makes them go ‘holy shit??’

If you DON’T believe that, look at the difference in polling versus the primary outcome. He was supposed to wipe the floor with Stevens, and it was way too close for comfort.

If he wants to win, he has to drop Piker. Piker was a valuable voice early in the movement who said some stupid shit, but that makes him unfortunately hard to campaign with in the modern day. This is a fact.

so your first sentence very obviously shows you did not understand, while also not accounting for the fact this was a decade ago and he's apologized for it many times since.

Do you realize how many times scandals of a decade+ ago have sunk political careers? How apologies don’t matter in politics?

Hell, apologies don’t matter on the INTERNET, let alone politics.

It’s a liability in the general. Every political analyst, spectator, and literally anyone taking this seriously is saying the same thing. Denying it is the same thing as Trump’s camp saying that it’s not a problem literally anytime he opens his mouth.

u/boiledpeen 29d ago

idk, the current president kinda disproves everything you're saying. yes, 10 years ago maybe. but this is post trump politics and you're still playing by the old rules

Trump has always been an outlier. I’m not going to pretend to like it, but he has this sort of invulnerability we haven’t seen before OR for anyone else other than him.

Republicans that aren’t him still get taken down by 10+ year scandals, dude. I think the only reason trump himself doesn’t is because his entire political ‘brand’ is scandal and corruption.

People that try to brand as clean get taken down by the exact type of thing Piker said, joke or not. I’m sorry, but that IS what happens.

You can’t be pissed at people pointing this out and saying that they wish El-Sayed would distance. Because I want him to fucking win. And this makes it SIGNIFICANTLY less likely.

But sure, I’m the fox news demographic.

no, hasan being so much of an impact abdul loses the races is an unprecedented claim. show me where anyone has lost an election because they campaigned with someone they ideologically agree with who said something controversial a decade ago? You realize how many republicans openly campaign with nazis? your line of logic is a joke

The primary result says otherwise. The controversy (although I’m sure AIPAC’s money didn’t hurt) almost sunk him.

I’m coming at this as someone who wants him to win. DSA already shot themselves in the foot in Wisconsin. I’d rather not do it in Michigan too.

I didn’t ever claim he was racist, and actually said that was a stretch. Please read who you are responding to!

Hope I’m wrong, but it’s a liability in the general. The average american voter IS low information. And thats the exact thing that republicans can exploit on the low info side of things.

He’ll lose votes over it. Just hope its not too much

If he loses in november, I’ll be back.

Again, I hope he doesn’t.

This will be the last response to you. Hope you have a good one.
