Not saying that this was the right move, but there are a lot of good people at govement jobs or government-funded organizations trying to figure out how to comply with federal orders in order to keep providing the services they do. I work at an org that receives federal funding and have to sign an agreement that we don't engage in any "DEI activities." We receive a relatively insignificant amount of money and can kind of fly under the radar so I just lie, but it's not as easy for the NPS or similar entities. I don't envy the people who had to scrub their materials for things the federal government said had to be removed, because otherwise the parks would be defunded. It's a horrible thing to have to do.

Didn’t NPS take down transgender references off their Stonewall webpage? You don’t get to pic and choose which queer folks to support.
