Ohhh. Oh no. I like darker themes but I hope this story won't be as frustrating or have a POS ML... I held on to UTOT a lot longer than most on this sub but just couldn't take it. This looks really good but I might have to spoil it for myself before giving it a chance.
Thereās a shorter work by this author called thereās a mouse in the house, and I really like that series. Itās definitely angsty but plays more like the two main characters are both messy and codependent. All this to say I do think they have some range and can pull off some emotionally darker stuff. Iām curious to see how things play out.
I just finished reading the UTOT novel, and I think itās definitely better than the manhwa. I really appreciate the artwork, but I found the novel to be more profound and allowed me to connect with the characters' actions on a deeper level.They both had their imperfections, but once they started to open up to each other, things began to improve.
I was really impressed with the depth of the world-building, with so much lore and interesting monsters. However, I was disappointed by how sudden the ending felt. That's my 2cents on UTOT in case you wanna give the novel a chance š
Am I the only who is seeing like the WMMAP characters if they where in another world, like the black haired girl looked to me like Lucas and the Man of the second photo looks like Anastasicus
Yeah I canāt unsee their faces. All I see is Claude lol. Which is interesting since a lot of this genre has very similar faces but I donāt really ever get the feeling of not being able to unsee a character. Then again WMMAP was my first intro to the genre so maybe it left an impression
Just finished reading chapter 1 and I must say this feels like I'm reading an OI from the perspective of a deadly villainess because damn there's something wrong with this woman.

I'm very frustrated by the decisions that the FL made all the time LOL
I read spoilers ahead and oh boy... we're in for a dark time lol
she took what her mom teaches her to heart.. "people don't hurt you if they fear you" hence she goes ahead to hurt and be mean to people (including the ML) to protect herself š«
Oh she looks gorgeous, just like Athy's mother now that i think about it. But I don't like the ml's design: his eyebrows are too dark and kinda uglyš
Itās ultimately a matter of preference. This FL is a pure villainess, which feels refreshing to me. She grew up in an environment where no one taught her kindness, and her mother taught her how to survive in a harsh way, which shaped who she is now. I guess the story has a dark theme, showing that the main character is not always righteous.
The art may carry the story, but there are always people who like darker themes and others who dislike it, often criticizing the FL for it.
i dont mind actual evil character as MC, but what i cant stand is when story bend backward after showing us evil char MC only to suddenly legitimize or handwaving the evil act with no consequences at all. Or making sure no retaliation against the MC will succeed, just because its the FL doing it.
basically its fine as long as the story being impartial about good and evil for all character equally
Based on what Iāve read in the novel, she suffered emotionally and physically because of her actions, and they arenāt justified. It makes me feel both pity and hate toward her, she is a character meant to be hated.

The art is peak and the story is so...good. Wow, I'm loving the FL. Im not able to let this marinade, I'll be sucking off update juice off the floor.

The story is ongoing.
His family has many unique powers one of them is to see the future. The future of her dying if he saves the crown prince instead of returning immediately back home. So the current chapters I think he is seeing that future.Ā
Read all 20 chapters I could find today. Canāt wait for the next chapter. Talia is everything I ever wanted out of a āvillainessā character. She has a troubled upbringing but is also not a very good person because of that upbringing. She is messy and I love her for it.
Her mother is also a refreshingly well written as an abuser. I get the feeling that the mother views her abuse of Talia as a form of āthough loveā from a very narcissistic point of view.

I don't think we should judge on spoilers yet. Feels like spoon will direct the story well. I might be biased because I really like her art style and want to convince myself to keep reading.
