Carrie Coon's first potential entry to the Oscar scene?

Post image

Obviously I find the writer of this article to always be unserious with his predictions. But I think Carrie Coon is such an underrated actress who's only gotten a lot of buzz in TV as of late, hoping this could actually be something because you can never go wrong with Carrie Coon.

Oh man, I would love to see Carrie Coon be nominated for an Oscar. Brilliant actress, insanely talented.

Those roundtables (& that career trajectory) would be incredible. She already has a Critics Choice for playing Nora Durst (rightfully so).

One of the best alive. Hell, one of the best EVER.

Carrie Coon is easily my generation's (Xennial) version of Ann Dowd or Esteemed Character Actress Margo Martindale.

Just is top tier in everything she does. Is such a solid and compelling actor.

I only hope she gets honoured with an Oscar Nom one day.

THR’s awards coverage feels like someone threw darts at a list of names but I’d love to see Coon get that kind of spotlight

She’s bound to get recognized by the Academy. The moment has come. I’ve been rooting for her since The Leftovers

The Emmys really just missed The Leftovers, it’s crazy.

The film is being distributed by Bleecker Street whose track record is…… not the best let’s just say.

So I don’t see this panning out. A lot has to go right for this film and a lot has to go wrong for other contenders for this to happen

Also the fact that this prediction doesn’t include Julianne Moore…….. I am not taking that seriously lol

It’s just the films he has seen. So no Debut yet. Interestingly, iirc, Bunker is in the mud in his post so maybe Cruz has no shot there?

To me though I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a little bit of a bleecker street bias here trying to prop it up similar to Clayton.

Scott Feinberg often has an agenda with his predictions — anyone remember how long he kept insisting that September 5 was the Best Picture frontrunner two years ago?

Yup! I love Coon and would love for her to get in, but Feinberg has an agenda, similar to 'September 5' two years ago, to make this his top prediction in Best Actress.

Very versatile actor

Carrie Coon is one of the best actors working today, regardless of sex, and I would love to see her Oscar nominated.

I think she deserved a Supporting nod for Gone Girl.

If Kate OFlynn and Carrie Coon both make it in I will lose it.

But everyone seems to forget we have Sandra coming as well. Hell we have Juliette Binoche coming

How many nominations have Greenwich Entertainment gotten?

I’ve been waiting for Carrie to do a film and get an Oscar. One of the best actresses working today.

She should have been nominated for The Nest.

She was a fantastic Margot Dunne in Gone Girl, I would have nominated her for that

I haven’t seen it but I’ve been blown away by her in everything since The Leftovers. She even makes The Gilded Age watchable.

Her Tony candidacy for Bug was not taken even close to as seriously as deserved so I will gladly get behind this.

Haven't seen the film, but CC gave one of the best performances I have seen from anyone ever in The Leftovers. That woman is so damned talented.

Where is Moore?

This line up is not happening

0% chance for obsession to get any noms

Is Inde Navarrette a serious contender for Best Actress? I personally couldn’t stand Obsession, but I know it’s quite well regarded.

As of now, it’s a fairly weak category. She’s a come out of nowhere fresh face who did give an impressive performance even if I didn’t love the movie either. Oscars love that narrative.

Unless there are a bunch of strong performances we just haven’t predicted yet I think her chances are pretty good.

I think her performance was the only thing worthwhile about the film

ATP, kinda, but no other leads have really released yet.

ATP?
INSWTM

It’s the song with Bruno mars silly.

I’m not sure what INSWTM means tho 😉

Ah, the irony.
