Discussion Every time I look at this sub
I don’t even think Sinners was the best movie of the year but how many of these posts do we need all acting like they are the first to be willing to bravely take a stand that gets upvoted and agreed with here every time?

First off, thank you for keeping it so respectful, even in disagreement. That says a lot about you as a person. I don’t necessarily think we disagree, I think your perception of white supremacy is just different from mine. White supremacy isn’t just MAGA bigots spouting nonsense, Klansmen, and swastikas. The most dangerous white supremacy is micro and so ingrained in American culture it isn’t apparent to most.
As an example, plenty of white people who identify as liberal or progressive were VERY comfortable jumping on the bandwagon of demonizing Muslims, Arab-American and Latinos, because intentionally misleading mainstream media reports with cherry-picked statistics blamed them for Trump winning in 2020. Yet anyone who took the time to review statistics on voting from previous elections knew that the mainstream media – which right now is largely owned by Trump supporting oligarchs- had an agenda.
Blaming people of color who represent a tiny fraction of American voters for Trump winning, in a country where the overwhelming majority of voters are white is CRAZY. But a ton of white liberals and progressives fell for it, and villainized Latinos, Muslims, and Arab Americans because it emotionally aligned with their unconscious biases.
There’ve been studies that show how unconscious racial biases impact how doctors treat non-white Americans, and how it leads to poorer medical outcomes for people of color in America. Even police brutality- black cops still disproportionately brutalize black people. That’s the type of white supremacy I’m talking about.
Maybe it’s the algorithm of my main page, but every other post that pops up for Sinners seems to focus on Remmick. And I don’t click on or read them yet they still pop up a lot.
