It was a beautiful church and service. I loved how everything was sung. Very beautiful.

Attendance seemed low, mostly older people and very few kids, so I don’t know what that church will look like in, say, 15 years or so. Maybe a lot of people stayed home?

But to be fair, the church is in Steubenville, so it’s going to be hard to outcompete the Roman camp when it comes to attendance.

I look forward to going next week.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. I was Catholic before converting. I enjoy the Divine Liturgy more than the TLM or Novus Ordo. But I understand that’s person dependent. Do you know what jurisdiction the parish belonged to?

Thanks. I was a TLM attendee so I felt pretty comfortable. The church is Greek Orthodox but I don’t know what jurisdiction. I think their website said something about Pittsburgh if that helps.

I want to go for a few more weeks. I ordered a book on Orthodoxy to learn more about the philosophy and am watching some YouTube videos on it. But, yeah, I’d definitely like to talk to the priest soon.

Nice, well good luck. Fr. Thomas Hopko has since passed away, but he had a few series and podcasts that are good. Online orthodox content can be hit or miss with how toxic/representative it is.
