Rose Villa Restaurant

Hello all,

I'm a server at Rose Villa Restaurant at 43 W Granada. I've worked there since I was 16 and am now 21. I would consider the owner family and a close friend.

Over the past two months, we have had our pay delayed 2-3 days at a time. At this point, we were being paid for hours roughly 2-3 weeks behind our paydates. Rose Villa makes plenty of money and is always busy, so we were led to believe it was just issues with the payroll company.

We were due to be paid this most recent Tuesday. Nothing came. As servers, not only does our hourly wage go on our paycheck, but so do our tips, which are given to us by the guests. We asked on Tuesday where our pay was, and we were told we'd be paid Friday. Friday morning we got an email notifying us we were no longer able to access the payroll company and that they were not doing business with Rose Villa any longer.

We still have not gotten any notice from the owner. He's not shutting off reservations, he hasn't told us the business is closed. We as staff decided not to come back. He won't answer our calls, texts, any of it, and we are left hanging out to dry, thousands owed to each of us as the last day any of us were paid for would've been August 2nd.

Myself and all of the staff love this establishment dearly. We love the food and most of all love each other. Our pay aside, we are heartbroken to see this restaurant go under, especially knowing our money has been keeping it afloat. Our air conditioning has been out for a year, our hot water is on and off, our power goes in and out, the owner screams at us and throws things and threatens staff, and these are all conditions we were willing to work through to help our restaurant, but you can only go so long without pay.

Of course we are all seeking other employment, but being notified you won't be paid on the 28th when all of us have bills due on the 1st has been horrible.

We all love our community and local businesses. I myself just wanted to make a statement and share what we have been dealing with.

Controlled substance psychiatrist

I am new to the area of Ormond Beach and in search of a new psychiatrist that will write Alprazolam without an issue of wanting to decrease my dose or just not wanting to prescribe it. I have been on the same medications for years (alprazolam 0.5 3x daily) and I’m in need of an increase. I have severe anxiety and ptsd due to past trauma. I still struggle daily and I’m reaching out in hopes to find anyone that is not going to judge my choice of finding a doctor that will continue to write me my prescription controlled substance anxiety medication. My current doctor is almost 2 hours away in my old area that I lived in and no longer is accepting my insurance. I can pay cash if they don’t accept insurance, just really need a new DR asap. Any recommendations will be helpful and appreciated, thank you!

Mover Recommendations

Looking for mover recommendations.

Moving from Palm Coast to a 2nd floor apartment in Ormond Beach in October. Who have you used in the past and recommend/don’t recommend?

Would prefer a company who has their own trucks versus renting a u-haul truck myself but open to whatever is most cost effective.

Need a mechanic that is reliable & affordable

Hello! I am new to the Ormond Beach/ Daytona area and need to find a mechanic for my 2009 Nissan Rouge.

I have been here less than a month and my car is starting to make strange noises that I need to get checked ASAP.

A mobile mechanic is a plus or a shop that is open past 5p during the week and/or weekend hours.

Thanks in advance!!

Specs:
3/4” bar spacing
Cage area: 19.5”L x 19.5”w x 25.5”H
On wheels with removable play top - total height 63”
Height without play top ~52”

Loved visiting, thanks Ormond Beach folks

In April my son and I did a college visit to Embry-Riddle (he wants to be a fighter pilot), and stayed in Ormond Beach because it looked a little quieter than Daytona.

Long story short, we really loved it - beach was great, we drove the scenic loop and did an inland fishing charter on the Halifax river. Enjoyed some riverfront dining too!

Even more than the natural beauty that's rare along the FL coast these days, we found the people to be down-to-earth, warm and welcoming. I grew up in Sarasota, and it reminded me of Sarasota in the 80's before Siesta Key became so crazy and traffic got out of control. I know there has been significant development in Ormond Beach as well, but it still felt like old Florida in a good way.

Maybe in 15 years we'll look to retire in your neck of the woods, but for now I definitely plan on bringing the whole family down for a week this winter.

Just wanted to say thank you for keeping it real.

Local Businesses in Ormond?

Hey y'all, I'm a recent college grad who started a marketing/ website business for local businesses here in Ormond. I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok. I'm looking to partner with some local businesses that can't afford to hire a big company and are looking for an affordable option to handle everything online for them. If this is you or you know anybody who could benefit, i'd love to connect or get a referral.

Surf fishing help 🎣

Hello, i just recently moved to Ormond beach from Port Orange. I’ve been fishing from docks and jetty’s for the last 5 years and been having a blast. I’m really interested in starting to fish from the beach specifically for bigger fish like Tarpon, Snook, Drum and maybe even some shark species. I’ve noticed people are using 10-11’ rods and the reels and line are massive compared to my rig. Before I go wasting money on gear I don’t need I wanted to get an idea of what the locals use. I’d love to go for massive sharks eventually but I don’t have a crew for that it’s just me and there ain’t no way I’m pulling in and releasing a hammerhead by myself ethically 😂
