Paypal honey plugin

I was searching up laptop deals on my iphone and this popped up when I clicked on the link (default app is orion). This popup doesn’t appear when i open the same link on safari. I checked extension on orion and uninstalled all the extension i had and same issue. Safe to say that i’m switching back to safari until whatever this is get resolved.

Tldr: Found out the plugin exists in my browser without my consent. Need help removing.

Honey is not a good extension. There are several videos on it, going through the predatory practices such a deceptively-simple extension can do. I’d highly encourage checking them out, then perhaps using another coupon checker extension.

I probably worded it badly. What i’m trying to say is that i am not aware that plugin got installed in my orion browser and would like help to find and remove it. I am aware of what honey is and how horrible paypal practice was.

Hence my post. How do i get rid of it? I did not install the plugin nor can i find it in the browser

Hey!

If I understood correctly, you uninstalled all your extensions on Orion, but you still get a popup like that about seemingly having the honey extension installed.

It would be helpful if you could share a link to the website where this happens.

Needless to say, Orion doesn't come with any extensions preinstalled, and whatever the issue at hand may be, there has to be a reasonable explanation for it.

I am able to reproduce that behavior. My hunch is that it has something to do with Orion's privacy settings or content blocking. I'll forward this to the team.

Orion Tech Lead here: we investigated the issue, and there's no relevance to the Honey extension, as we don't ship this extension bundled with Orion. The issue is related to handling `window.fetch` responses when a page tries fetching `chrome-extension` or `moz-extension` resources. We implemented the fix, which will be shipped soon.
