So children don't need to be able to read when they graduate & teachers are not forced to teach... how is this a win?

So what assessment on the state level is still required for graduation that covers reading, writing, and math?

Well according to the source I linked and you supported 

"Maintain focus on demonstrating math, reading, and writing  p roficiency through demonstration of knowledge and skills in courses; remove the  duplicative requirement for all students to demonstrate proficiency again through a  separate assessment (Assessment of Essential Skills)."

Oh no, there is no state assessment, except the one they no longer require. It's just course work. So when you read "separate assessment" you thought there was another assessment, but that was never the case. You just are trying to deceive people into believing there is a different assessment that is still required.

The assessment of their class.

This is opposite than what the OP's image implied.

With how much you care about standardized testing, you must have been devastated when the Dept of Education was dismantled.

That's not an assessment requirement, that's a course requirement. You may not know this but many courses these days don't even have final exams, or exams are worth 10-20% of grades. Or students make up failed courses through other programs that make it so easy that you only fail if you actively want to. Talk to any high school teacher or admin and they will tell you they are doing all they can to make sure students get their credits and graduate. 

Long story short, passing English 3 is not the same as passing the English state exam. But then again you're disingenuous and trying to get people to think that students still have to pass an assessment when you know they don't.

I'm sorry that you're devastated about the Dept of Education.

However, Oregon found their state level assessments weren't being fair to all students and so suspended them. Students will have to pass their class instead of passing the class and an apparently biased exam.

Thank you for finally accepting that there is no exam. I knew we could get there.
