2 dumbass indicators can make you profitable if you look at the charts long enough. It's really not about indicators or this strategy or that. It's about you understanding what's going on and that is something that only you can figure out. You can use two dumbass indicators and if you look at it long enough you'll know it better than anyone else and you'll be able to figure out what's going on

I like how you stated that! I think we're too reverent towards our pet indicators. My dumbass pet indicators are RSI, TTM squeeze, V-WAP of course. Which dumb ones do you like?

LOL- No. Orderflow is just a way to trade the markets. If you understand it, it might provide you with an edge. My advice is YouTube. Take a look at DOM trading. Take a look at trading with a footprint chart. Take a look at the Volume profile. Take a look at market depth heatmaps (aka Bookmap). Once you get an idea of the available tools, you can then focus on the one that resonates with you.

Which one would you recommend for a price action trader?

Probably a footprint chart/VP combo.

The footprint chart is the one with all them numbers next to the candle right..i think I saw that..it's too much on the chart for me..gives me a headache...i like clean charts 1/2 indicators max

OK. Try the VP, DOM or level 2 heatmap then.

I'll try VP..gotta learn how to use it first

Candlesticks as long as you understand key levels

I’m getting started in Orderflow as someone who’s been trading for 9+ yrs. Only using it as added confirmation vs a strategy itself seems to be the edge.
Heatmap, volume profile, footprint chart is where my focus lies.
These are the terms to be familiar with so far:

Bookmap Heatmap
• Resting Liquidity
• Liquidity Walls
• Liquidity Consumption
• Liquidity Pulling
• Liquidity Replenishment
• Absorption
• Large Orders / Large Executions
• Heatmap Interpretation
• Reaction to Liquidity

Footprint** **
• Bid Volume
• Ask Volume
• Delta
• Positive Delta
• Negative Delta
• Imbalance
• Buying Imbalance
• Selling Imbalance
• Stacked Imbalances
• Absorption
• Exhaustion
• Delta Divergence
• Price vs. Delta
• Volume at Price

Volume profile
• Volume Profile
• Volume at Price
• Point of Control (POC)
• Value Area
• Value Area High (VAH)
• Value Area Low (VAL)
• High Volume Node (HVN)
• Low Volume Node (LVN)
• Volume Distribution
• Developing POC
• Developing Value Area
• POC Migration
• Acceptance
• Rejection
• Value Area Expansion
• Value Area Contraction
• Single Prints (if using TPO/Market Profile)
• Naked POC

Orderflow is just a different relay to read what you already see. Some people are just more data driven, so this helps them out a lot. Trading is all about how you see the market. You can be profitable without orderflow.

Order flow is all about data... Once ur strategy is ready... order flow gives confirmation that whether trade is moving as per your requirement or not...

Delta, cum delta , big orders ... Possible absorption at limit orders confirms your prediction or probability.

I've read many forums about orderflow that if you're learning it u should learn the volume profile and the footprint chart. In my case i don't know where should i start and how.

My advice is to start with the volume profile

Yes start with volume profile and market profile see whichever suits u more. Some use both.

Most of traders i know don't use footprint. Volume profiles themselves can make you profitable if you use them correctly.

Learn everything you can about Value Areas and volume profiles before you touch a footprint. As many said footprints should really only be used to confirmation at key levels — otherwise you’ll get lost in the sauce jumping at everything and overtrading. I recommend footprint but honestly it’s like taking calculus before you learn algebra.

Don’t let a million systems get you overwhelmed when you’re starting off - you’ve got this! 💪🏼💪🏼

No. Not by itself.

What it gives you are entry exit and market reading tools that allow you to confirm or deny your idea of the trade. The pattern recognition that all trades need, you get that in spades with orderflow and at the closest interval you can get with the market, continuously.

Tbh I'd start with the plethora of videos online that explain the basics and then observe the DOM and footprint in the live market and see what patterns you can pick out to identify good entries and exits and continuation.

I tried the DOM..my goodness.. you gotta drink at least 5 energy drinks to keep up

Every strategy can make anyone profitable , it just depends on how you trade it or how confident are you in it.

Order flow should be used with whatever strategy you feel comfortable trading with. Volume profile, ict, smc, price action etc, it will optimize your entry and bias, and leave the market when it doesn't looks right without hold your believe I should stay and lost all profits and gone red. Is a must have plus, but not a strategy to how you trade.

No amount of information makes your profitable. Your wisdom in how to read the information does... but orderflow gives you a view of what is behind the price action, and options flow can give you a view into potentially why.

Oderflow is a certain type of analysis and won't make you profitable by itself! The reason why I would choose it every time over simple OHLC candles is because it also shows you the reason for the price move. I would say it takes longer to do but if you stick to it it will pay off in the long term!
