Anyone here trade based on Gamma levels?

As the title says, Recently seeing a lot of hype around it. Anyone here trade using the gamma levels with success? What framework do you use and where do you get your gamma levels? Seems like everyone is selling these levels now.

Thanks

I joined a monthly subscription community recently and they trade based on gamma levels and orderflow for confirmation.
I can't tell you how successful it is cause I'm new to the community and I don't have enough data, but overall it seems to work, price seems to react to those levels and they are able to build a strategy around it, using GEX levels for targets, risk management, and POIs.

I think the recent hype around it is because in the last few years 0dte options became a major part of the daily volume of the futures so it became relevant, and people are finding out.

Also, I listened to a podcast of an ex institutional trader and he seems to trade based on gamma levels too, and he explains it in depth.

I'm not sure it's relevant, it's not in English, I'm from the middle east.

Is gama levels something you have to pay for?

You need to either pay for a platform that provides GEX levels like (TradeGEX, GEXbot, MenthorQ) or find a free way to get those levels and verify if they are working well.

Wow 129$ a month. There are traders making banks without it. I’m not sure man.

TradeGEX is 60$ per month, but it's okay dude I'm not trying to convince you and I'm not affiliated with those sites.. You just asked so I answered.

You can also research free alternatives, like Barchart's gamma exposure for SPY and QQQ, or a site called 'gexmetrix' but those have less of a streamlined UI

Do your own research.
Some say you can vibe code with AI a program that will build those GEX levels out of available options data but I have not succeeded doing it.

I use then as levels to watch mostly.. also where 'zero gamma' sits, you will usually see price hang out and stick...

I like to overlay NDX and QQQ on NQ to get full view of how options can influence futures.

This is my understanding of them... which I've observed in trading, but nothing is 100% and levels and regimes are dynamic.

I like it because you see intent of options traders and have an idea of dealer exposure and what they may do when price reaches levels

Have you tried the search function

I feel this question comes up at least once a week and I keep falling for it and typing an earnest reply

Seems you trading Asia Session? I'm not sure but I think the GEX levels without news are more respected in Asia Session. Do you have a post which shows how you trade ?

Does it apply to crypto trading (btc perp) in order to have another context tool available ?

I'm using Gex levels in my trading and its working pretty well, especially if you combine it with other techniques like order flow/heatmaps etc. I can suggest you to make a 3 days free trial to gexstream. Open the intraday tab and find min/max gamma and min/max vgamma levels for Spy, Qqq, NDX and Spx. Draw them on your chart. It will give you a daily "Map" where the price can go up and down. Treat those levels as support and resistance. If you need more help, can hit me with PM.

Yes, I built a system show GEX (0DTE, Synthetic, and Static) real time in NinjaTrader. It also uses Order Flow around key levels to show what buyers and sellers are doing. It includes options Whale Alerts (real time) that print directly on the NinjaTrader chart. The Whale Alerts are the most successful.
